• Prefer Scouts for PvE and Hand Cannons (Last Word moreso than Thorn but can run both) for PvP
• Better sniper than shotgunner
• Really getting into PvP lately and will probably be playing/practicing in that for Trials of Osiris

That being said you should add chump to that list. I was playing PvP to get some crucible marks to buy a Scout Rifle and reroll the hell out of it.... well in doing so I got the new HoW PvP Scout Rifle (NL Shadow 701X) which in itself is pretty awesome. I spent over over 175 motes before I finally had the smart idea to Google and see if Outlaw and Firefly were both possible and realized they aren't... awesome hahah what an idiot.

 

I ended up settling with

-Oiled Frame

-Firefly

It overall is pretty damn amazing with maxed reload speed, really solid recoil and of course Firefly.. just wish I hadn't wasted so much material. I ended up using all my Ascendant Shards to turn into Glimmer and Motes as well as like 100 of said energies to turn into Shards and then more motes and Glimmer..... I really should have looked it up first I feel like an idiot haha

Added a small FAQ for those of you with questions about PoE.  Hopefully that helps.  I've been reading more and more about it while at work. Yes I'm a goddamn Destiny addict. 

 

Anyone else loving the new DLC?  I really really like it and the changes that they made were all for the better.  It is going to be a grind to get my 3x Fang, Fatebringer, Vision, Praedyth's etc... all up to the new damage level....

Finally unlocked PoE, ran the 28 and got Thunderlord AKA an exotic shard.  Oh well.   It was fun, but its so stupid that they don't have matchmaking on the other levels.

^ Hah, that's exactly what I got out of it the first time. It sure seems like your first PoE chest opening gives you an exotic. I think everyone who's opened one has gotten an exotic that first time. My other 3 last night only yielded legendaries - even on level 34.

Also, so far it seems like the new exotics have only dropped from Nightfall. I haven't heard of anyone getting a new exotic from Gorgon chest, Atheon, Crota, or even the PoE chest.
 

It is going to be a grind to get my 3x Fang, Fatebringer, Vision, Praedyth's etc... all up to the new damage level....

Maybe not. I just got a message from Chammer (our friend who has beat all the levels of PoE) and he said he and 2 other 34's just beat the level 35 in 45 minutes. So I have a feeling once we get the timing/strategy down these things won't be quite so hard any more and we'll be able to get our 6 etheric light per week with little problem. Yeah, it will still take a while to level up all the weapons, especially if you like to run multiples - but still, just 2 days in, it doesn't seem quite as impossible as it did last night .

There's also a flip side to some of the improvements they made. Like I love that the new legendary armors start at light level 32 and only require a few nodes of perks to fill them out (with the ones requiring armor mats only needing 5 instead of 25). But the flip side to that is that while I used to instantly break down non-Raid armor in the past, now I'm tempted to keep it since it is so easy to level. But that just makes the lack of Vault space (and their pathetic "fix" for that) all the more painful.

Exotic bounties give you the new versions of the weapons too. That is pretty much assumed yeah but I just confirmed it since I finally got around to finishing my latest Super Good Advice bounty earlier today. : P

Oh, I wasn't talking about the new versions of old ones (it didn't really occur to me that old exotics would have different nodes - I broke down the exotic weapons I got yesterday ASAP without even looking at the perk tree). I meant the brand new exotics like the Hunter helm Vendetta pulled from the Nightfall. But it could be that the new exotic weapons are not RNG drops. The Raid drops are all weapons, not armor. And it seems like the PoE chest only drops weapons as well. So that may be why we only saw new exotics from the Nightfall as it is the only place where exotic armors drop. I had never really thought about that before.

That's the one that gets you a class item, right? I have one of those and I also got a Token of Flight from the Level 34 PoE. That gets you a ship from Variks once you hit rank 2 in his faction. I think you just need to be rank 1 for the class item. I'm almost there already. Then the Token of Identity gets you a shader (at rank 3).

Yes, you can run it as much as you want and open the chest as long as you have a key.

If you have keys, you can beat it and access the rewards in the chests. So there is no weekly lockout or anything on the chests.

You should be good to go, but if you got the cores and light already, you won't get those again from running the same level again.

I really enjoyed the new story missions, even if they didn't knock my socks off.  Eager to get into PoE tonight.  I got 2 new armor pieces for my Titan, some boots for my Hunter, and a couple "Meh" weapons for my Warlock, just from engrams and rewards as soon as I made my rounds of the Reef.  I've managed to pick up 3 keys too, just from the story stuff.   I keep maxing my glimmer though and cant' spend it fast enough.

Yeah, I want to see you use that against Urrox in the Level 34 .

So I went to farm keys for a short time this afternoon. I was also running regular bounties and doing some Queen's Wrath bounties. I think I only killed 5 Wolves bosses during that time. But I ended up with 1 of each of the 3 tokens. By the way, they don't come from the chests - they drop immediately after you kill the boss.

So I have a Token of Judgement (class item), Token of Flight (ship), and Token of Identity (shader). I could use the class item one on my Warlock who is already level 1. I'll have to wait on the others.

The third token went to my postmaster as the other 2 filled up my Materials slots. I was running with a full consumables inventory because I did not want to get more special synth. Has anyone been able to comfirm 100% that the keys will overflow to the post? They are different from the tokens because they reside in the Consumables slots.

I also ended up with 3 new legendary armor pieces for my Titan during that short time. I got a legendary chest piece from a Wolves chest and another from a Cryptarch package. Then I had a blue helm engram turn into a legendary helm. So here's the issue I was talking about before - since they are so easy/cheap to level up I'd like to keep them to see if the full set (they were all from different sets) look nice. But I won't have nearly the Vault and character space for that. I am starting to delete VoG and Crota gear that doesn't have a great roll though - I figure I wouldn't want to ascend that anyway unless it is really good so why keep it. But then I lose flexibility to balance my stats when I switch exotic armor...

Oh yeah, and my friend showed me the 3 items (ship, shader, emblem) he got from the Level 35 chest. I want those right now. The ship, in particular, is freaking awesome.

I've jumped back in. Thought it was funny that Odi has been trying so hard for keys. Did my first wanted bounty and got a key from the first chest I opened. Now I will just have to complete the missions and try to make a run through PoE.

I didn't try all that hard today. I got 3 the day before the DLC hit, though, and that was a lot more than most people got spending a lot more time at it. Just know that getting it on your first chest is like winning the lottery though .

Frankly, if I get more (and I will get 2 more guaranteed from the other 2 chars I haven't run through the story yet), I'm going to keep one in reserve to use on the Level 35. You don't really get all that much out of the other ones anyway. On my first two openings on two characters (the first time seems to guarantee you an exotic from what I've seen) I got Thunderlord and Universal Remote. Whoo-freaking-who... It appears the new exotics are not in the loot table and I don't need any of the existing ones since I even have multiple Gjallarhorns at this point.

I tried to invite you in to a Nightfall run yesterday Moose - you missed out. With your RNG you probably would have gotten an etheric light if you played with me .

I'll be on in a bit but I have a crew ready to run it with me already. We are going to do the Story on alternate characters and then probably 28/32/34 PoE. I'd like to get one more key to use on the 34. I think you do, perhaps, get chances at different legendaries from the different levels. Vendetta - didn't you tell me this? Like you get Queen's theme weapons from 28/32 but Fallen themed ones from 34+?

Ugh that took forever hahah but glad we got it, stupid round 4.

 

I cannot even remember the things I got during all my playtime yesterday. I got the Queens Wrath Handcannon and then later got Up the Ante Handcannon which has noticeably better overall stats. I did however after grueling through all of level 34 PoE... I got ONE STRANGE COIN from the normal chest. ONE STRANGE COIN.
