There's actually a few stores around here that have some of these listed as "low stock".  Put some holds out and will see how lucky I am tomorrow morning.

Retail versions of Wolf2009 will not activate on Steam. I think it may even be DRM free.

Still a solid game though. Worth $6 if you can find it.

So I'm guessing all those old Spiderman Activision games (not the newer ones in current release) are not Steamworks?

You would guess correctly. A good rule of thumb is to remember which publishers embraced Steam hard. Squeenix and Bethesda were full Steam ahead. Activision didn't care about Steam until some of the more recent Call of Duty games which I think are full Steamworks (I think this went back to MW2 actually but I'm no CoD historian...). And Ubisoft turned to Steam after lol just seeing if you were paying attention.

Nothing remotely close to me. Either that or they just don't keep an inventory of PC games anymore.

Those are some amazing deals that MyD posted. Borderlands 2 GOTY for that price? That's crazy.

Man.  I wish I hadn't taken advantage of so many Steam sales.  These prices are great and there are a bunch of these near me.

Going for $60ish on eBay for anyone who can find one. I'm betting they're gutted though.

I got the wolverine game gutted a while ago and it had at least one scratch on it. That's one of the reasons I got into a mini-arguement with a GameStop employee before.

Brave New World and Wolf are the only thing on that list that I think I do not have.  There is a copy of Wolf 50 miles away, I am not that interested.  No luck on BNW, and I have been wanting to get that for a while.  $1 would have been a great deal.

So I went to two gamestops by my job and they didn't have much. All the newer titles rang up for full price and only saw a Flatout 2 for $0.47 that I might pick up later.

A lot of games seem to be in my general area. If anyone wants anything specific let me know and I'll check it out.

Civ 5: Brave New World is also the same price.

So are a bunch of others.

Are they junking some games out?
They're pretty clearly getting rid of all but the top 1% retail PC games in mindshare. Anything at $0.47 will probably be field destroyed soon. FWIW:

-don't go on any huge treks without reserving via phone first, as the stock locator isn't 100% reliable.

-a lot of stores don't have their clearance PC games on display anymore--they're kept in the back with the PSP games :/

-some of the games listed as "online only" (like Arkham Origins) can actually be found in store, because of reasons. You can do a lookup on these by taking the six digit number found in the name of the box art JPEG (right click, save as), and pasting that number to the end of this URL: www.gamestop.com/browse/storesearch.aspx?sku=

Nice Work Op ! Had to go out of state for work today and figured that none of these were available by my local GS decided to go look at one near where I was working . The person who posted about these being in the back was right . After I asked about the games they were like here these are the ones we got out of that list. Only a few . Still a nice score . Then I asked about Guides . We have a few in the back that nobody took . Asked if I could look they said sure . Was a complete bonus !!! Thanks Op wouldn't have bothered to look otherwise :)

At this point it's probably easier to find the discontinued Activision games on console now. Wolverine, Wolf2009, etc.

It's criminal these are being pulled from digital distribution services but nothing close to what the gaming world lost when Steam lost Outrun Coast 2 Coast. So glad I bought that.

I'm really happy about my haul. I managed to get:

Rage ($0.97)

Dishonored ($0.97)

Wolfenstein 2009 ($5.97) - Bought this after hearing it was OOP

Warhammer 40k: Dawn of War II Retribution ($2.97)

I was able to redeem all of them on steam except for Wolfenstein

I admit I'm much more inclined to buy an Activision game on Steam on a ho hum sale than other publishers just because they pull their stuff so damned much.

That being said, I think I will pass on their older games with GFWL and/or antiquated disc based DRM. Shame they can't re-release them though.

Rage retail copies come with the Anarchy Edition DLC, if memory serves. The trick to them was that the anarchy edition was bundled into the main game code but you also had the Anarchy Edition extras as an additional code. At least that's how it was with MY retail Rage.

You can't buy the Anarchy Edition extras on Steam so that makes any extra codes you have for those extras a valuable thing. Not hugely so but it would be a shame if you had extra codes and didn't share/sell.

I grabbed it from gamestop today and it came with 3 codes. There's the game itself, then 2 DLC codes. The first DLC registered as the anarchy edition which unlocked both the Authority Pack and Rage Sewers. The last code says it's for the sewers and when I try to activate it then it says I already own it.

This ditched GFWL and moved to Steamworks a bit ago.

Huh. My Rage retail copy (bought at Toys'R'Us during their awesome clearance) only had one key, and it activated the game, Anarchy content (Authority Pack), and the Sewers.

This one had an insert with the extra codes on it. I wonder if it's a newer version because everything says it's steam keys while the box says it's GFWL.

Some of the Rage retail copies had the extra codes for the DLC and some did not. In some cases people who got it from the same store in what appeared to be the same box alternately did or didn't get the code.

There was a cheap sale on it from Newegg quite some time ago and it was a hot topic in the Steam thread because some people were getting the DLC and some weren't. When people wrote Newegg they told them that was the stock they got from Bethesda. It was unopened and they had no way of knowing what was inside since the boxes did not differentiate which ones had the extra DLC.

I would guess that Bethesda probably had leftover physical stock from pre-orders and didn't bother to separate them out at all so just mixed them in with their regular post release boxed retail stock.

Basically, it's a toss up.

Is there some sort of special deal on guides or did you just buy a bunch?

I wonder what the chances of Enemy Within returning to be "available" are. I wish I paid attention so I could have just asked if they had a copy when I went today, but since it says online only, it's probably only online.

Man these clearance prices are crazy.

I picked up

Red Faction: Armageddon

Defiance

Dishonored

X-COM Enemy Unknown Special Edition

The Bureau X-COM Declassified

All for about $5. They were all new but gutted. Seems that everything is in the boxes that should be though.

Thanks OP for creating this thread. I grabbed at a Gamestop near my workplace a copy of Dishonored for myself and a friend. I also grabbed Space Marines for $3.

So I found a $0.97 copy of Bioshock 2 for GFWL.  Is this copy of the game redeemable and playable on a non-dead platform?

All of those keys should have got added to Steam's database a while back so you can try redeeming it on Steam.

Product Update - Valve Oct 3, 2013
Hey BioShock 2 fans!

In August, the Games For Windows LIVE service marketplace closed and some of you wondered what would happen to BioShock 2 on PC. We remain committed to supporting BioShock 2 on PC and are excited to announce that starting today the game is available via Steam. Not only that, but the Steam version of BioShock 2 includes all available multiplayer downloadable content, as well as the single player “Protector Trials” DLC!

With the help of our friends at Digital Extremes, BioShock 2 on Steam fully supports popular features of the platform, including controller compatibility, Steam achievements, and Big Picture mode. Matchmaking is easier than ever now, allowing you to search for “any game,” as opposed to having to select your game mode. Leveling up is also quicker and easier, as we’ve fine-tuned the multiplayer experience to be better than ever.

If you have already purchased BioShock 2 through a different digital partner, we’ve got you covered. Simply take the same game activation key you already own and “activate” it within Steam. Doing this will grant you access to BioShock 2, all of its multiplayer and Protector Trials DLC, as well as Minerva’s Den – the single player story-driven add-on that includes new weapons, enemies, and plasmids!

For more information on BioShock 2 on Steam, you can visit: http://2kgam.es/bioshock2steam

-- 2K Games
The announcement just mentions "different digital partner" but from what I remember people were reporting retail GFWL keys were activating on Steam as well.

You can also still install it and play the gfwl version.

Gfwl is not dead, contrary to the retards shouting from the rooftops that it was going to die last July.
