It's Kickstarter page.

It's already reached its 500K goal in the first day.

An exploration-focused, side-scrolling platformer featuring RPG and crafting elements.
Koji Igarashi, the namesake of "Igavania"-style games, is leading the project, with Michiru Yamane composing the music and Inti Creates leading the development.
If funded, the game will be developed for XBOX One, Playstation 4, and PC. For the first time on Kickstarter, backers will have the option to receive actual PS4 / XB1 / PC retail discs.

You are Miriam, an orphan scarred by an alchemist curse which slowly crystallizes your skin. You must battle your way through a demon-filled castle summoned by Gebel, your old friend whose body has become more crystal than flesh.

The physical copy of the game for Xbox One, Playstation 4, or Steam (PC/Mac/Linux) will include exclusive Kickstarter-only content:

The mighty swordwhip
A super-powerful hidden boss
A Kickstarter Edition slipcase

Here's an interview from Destructoid and another from Gamespot.

i find it funny in the video the guy talking about how publishers say there isnt an audience for this type of game anymore when there have been a lot of great "metroidvania" type games (albeit all indies) that have come out in the last few years.

then this game, with a half million goal, reaches it in the first day. yeah... theres no audience for these types of games anymore   -____-

Wow, just wow....another kick starter for another spiritual successor for "x-game." I'm really getting tired of these kick starter pages for games.

Tune in next week folks,  for the spiritual successor for Ride to hell : Retribution kick starter page.

The worst part is the March 2017 ETA for the game. I think I'll pass this time.
Yeah, but those things don't mean squat. Plenty of projects have literally failed to deliver anything, regardless of the est release date.

Hell, I'm still waiting for Half Genie Hero, which was supposed to release Oct 2014... and whenever I look for an update, all I see is new polls for a which costume or DLC they should add.:whistle2:/

if i bought this game, it would only be the $60 physical disk in hopes that i could flip it for more cash down the line.

Same reason I didn't pledge any money. I knew the game would quickly get funded and was very tempted to put $60 down to get one of physical copies of the game, but 2017 is way too far away, I'll be find paying for the game once it releases.

Is there a general Q&A area for KS projects, for non-donors? There's a ask button but not sure if that's useful, since it apparently contacts the creator himself.

I want to clarify whether the artbook is softcover or hardcover. The pledge rewards say it's softcover but the chart of all the rewards says hardcover.
