Based on this "leak", leaks usually mean it's coming up very soon

Will buy the Vita in a heartbeat at that price

Mods - If this is the wrong forum, please move to the correct one

I might buy a Vita for that price
i might too, even though i just bought the vita tv. just support a dead system. i highly doubt sony will produce any more handheld game system after vita.

the ps4 price drop was bound to happen

Wow $89 is crazy. If that's how much it will cost for a slim I would probably upgrade my OLED model.

If you look at the picture they show.. Vita at $89 but the PSTV at $99...
Something doesn't smell right.

If the vita does drop to $89, I'm buying a 2nd (or 3rd..)

I don't know, it might not be the case. The Vita 1st model is discontinued, and the $89 is just some kind of small number for price purposes, so Sony can write off a smaller loss or something.

I agree. Something about that $89 price tag seems deceptive. I won't believe it until I see an official update.

I can confirm this is real. This was taken from the on.playstation.com site. I just logged in and saw it listed there word for word as it's posted on the yahoo site.

Now is the page that has this wrong/typo? Perhaps, but it is not doctored in any way. Here is my own screenshot, but with a different portion of the sweepstake details listed to show it's not the exact same image that is hosted on the yahoo article.

Man. I'm trying to decide if I should wait for this or grab the PS TV for $39. Hhhmmmmm. For people who have both what would you do?
Buy the $40 PSTV.

*if* the vita drops... You might consider grabbing one also.
I love my vita, wasn't going to get a PSTV at all but the amazon lightning deal lured me in. The PSTV isn't perfect, but its great for remote playing Diablo 3 farming in bed on a big screen.

Lol damn it I just bought a borderLands bundle for 120
I got the same bundle for a similar price like a month and a half ago. I even considered that the Vita was probably going to get a price drop soon, too, but at the time the conjecture was that the Vita would permanently drop to ~$170 so I figured I was still getting a good deal. So even though it's technically my fault, I'll still be a little annoyed if this turns out to be true. I'm pretty sure it's a typo or something though. Having the Vita cheaper than the PS TV makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.

There is almost no chance the vita is dropping to $89. If anything they are using that number as the msrp for old vitas even though they've never been offered for that price.

The $50 ps4 drop is most likely 100% legit. Its about time for a $50 price drop.

Hopefully this is what finally causes wii u to go on sale for less than $260 new w/ games.

Maybe its a typo and it meant $189? price drop of $10, but regardless of if it is the old or new model, both have their pros and cons, so a 1000 getting a price drop might be a good thing too. If this is real, now is the time to scout which stores have the most in stock.

this. Their valuation of the PSTV and Vita platforms are odd. A PSTV has Vita internals, sans the screen and buttons -- it doesn't add up. Besides, the Vita might be a failure, but the PSTV was a stillborn.

after going through 2 vita consoles already and junking them because i didnt have interest and was blazing through games on the console, i would grab another one if the actual price point is 89.  then i could finish gravity rush, both soul sacrifice games, and the neptunia line.

ill cross my fingers and hope, but i dont imagine this is going to happen anytime soon?

Well the 99$ vita comes with a dualshock 3 and a memory card so it kinda adds up.

Honestly they need to really drop the memory card price. Vita is looking like a highly digital future for the niche games coming out on it. They should put out the 64 gig in America and drastically price drop the rest (like $70 for 64....$40ish 32 gig, $20 16 gig, $10 at most 8 gig...no one should buy the 8 gig they should just retire it.

I haven't touched a vita since I sold my launch one. Would definitely buy another at that price. Doubt it happens though. Seems like a typo more then anything.

I'm apart of this Retail Associates site and there is another contest that says that the 20th anniversary PS4 is worth $1,200 when the MSRP was what, $500? It would be nice if that was the price of the Vita and honestly I wouldn't be too surprised, but I also wouldn't be surprised if we see $129 first.

It's sad, but I'm still not sure I'd bite on a Vita at that price. The memory is going to push you up to $200 alone.

If this is actually true for the Vita, maybe they can actually make a good decision and drop the prices on the memory cards or make a damn adaptor so we can use microSD cards in our Vita!

so will this thread get moved back to deals if the Vita does go to $89??

Also, if I have an OLED & PStv activated on my PSN/SEN account, can I get a slim and use it as well with no problems? or Is 2 units still the max on any account?
