Anybody pick this up? I caved in and pre-downloaded it on release instred of getting a physical copy. Very fun game, but takes some strategizing. It's derivative enough from puzzle quest, and the mario characters make it fun.

I got it, but haven't started it yet (actively playing three other games right now  ). Enjoyed the demo and picked up a copy on Amazon-- it had release-day delivery, surprisingly. I've heard the Mario-themed PuzDora isn't as deep/complex as Z, so I think I'll play that one first.

Picked it up today on a whim, with GCU and the rewards i had i ended up paying $3  :D/

Played about 4-5 hours of PADZ so far, pretty fun. From what I was reading the Mario side ramps up the difficulty fairly quick and ends up being the harder game.

I used two lvl 2 characters to power level a dark helper toad to lvl 42, and if you have him on your team, he SMOKES their ass. Glitch?

The game started off very easy, but the difficulty ramps a little later. Clearing the second area of the game, and a boss wiped me out. It was nice to have my ass kicked. I haven't been using the eggs to level my monsters up, but it looks like I'm reaching the time to do so.

I can also see me grinding areas for the pieces to evolve monsters.

Yep. Same has happened with me with Lemmy in world 2. Time to grind.

Beat the Mario side earlier this month; will wait awhile to start the Z side.

If anyone's interested, here's something I figured out early on that made PuzDora Mario's grinding less painful (though there's still a lot of it):
Get Coin Coffers in your party and use them to give a sizable level boost to your other party members. This doesn't work as well with higher-level and more advanced characters (like Magikoopas), but it will help a ton for at least the first half of the game.
