Just traded in 2 copies of Twilight Princess and 1 of Mario Party 8 because they were offering more than I could get on eBay.

I'm hoping Gamestop's true colors will come out and the TIV will tank come 6/1.

Yeah, I was talking about this in another thread.

According to the GameStop/stores website, it says it ends the 7th.

Have some 360 power bricks that came in recently. I was about to go trade them in, buttttt I may wait now. Anyone familiar with their value tanking for accessories from similar promotions in the past? Probably should trade one or two now. I could see them dropping the base to like $14.

It's a total gamble, but I would wait for the 50% bonus.

Now I'm pissed I ebayed my gta V for $38 after I missed the $40 deal. Oh well, get your games traded early before they drop values.

Interesting. I do very little business at GameStop but i may trade in an old Xbox One controller and put it towards one of the new models if reviews are favorable and the TIV doesn't tank.

To trade in now or later that is the question.

Ok so anyone know how GameStop does this? How bad do they drop values? Are they like best buy who basically drops it enough where you either come out $1 ahead or lose a few? I have those skylanders I was going to trade in today but if those have a chance of getting more with this then I'll wait.

I would look online and see what their values show now for the games you are thinking about trading in. Then check back on Monday and see if there is a difference.

In the past they never tank much at least the first couple days. I'd say hold off until Monday on everything.

I'm expecting trade in values to drop on most games to counter the sale though. Might still make a few bucks more to compensate though... Never trade anything in/go to this place that much anymore. Think I will stop in this weekend and see if there is anything worth waiting til monday for.

GS notoriously dumps TIVs when these promotions happen, so my guess is that it's a 50/50 shot about something being higher TIV now versus the sale.

EDIT: Maybe wait until Monday like someone mentioned, which I think holds true to past TIV bonuses.  Usually by day 2 or 3, the TIVs dump.  Guess I'll save a couple of trade-ins until Monday and make a trip over lunch to the one by work.

To counter what sale? Do you mean to counter 50% extra bump?

I've been looking to get rid of my 360 collection, but it's a buyer's market right now. I have time and transportation issues so selling online is a big hassle, so I'm hoping I can get a HALF decent offer from Gamestop.

I never trade in games it just a waste of time, imo when I think about trading a game in and getting $2 back and see them sell it for $30 I feel stupid I'll rather have that game sit on my desk or just give it to someone

Pretty sure that never happens. most new releases are worth 33-38.50. much better than any other trade in medium. The only way that your asinine statement holds true, or even gets close to true is if you hold on to games for years and expect to get full price you paid for them.

and yes, Gamestop has much better values than other trade mediums....but keep listening to every other ill informed person.

And no I'm not a gamestop lover. I know they're sketch and I get annoyed by them too, but lets give them the credit they at least deserve for their values

To be fair, the first time in a long time I traded in a game (Soul Sacrifice), they gave me three dollars. I accepted it because I simply didn't want the game anymore.
