MAME Favorites - Best 2P VS Games?

A while back, I purchased an X-Arcade on Craigslist for $30. Didn't really get much use out of it after buying it, but I finally got around to setting up Hyperspin on an old PC and I'm really loving the setup. Having a few buddies over for a night of beers and arcade games is a lot of fun, but I don't really know a ton of great competitive 2 player games. There are the obvious choices like Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat, as well as the Midway sports games like NBA Jam and 2 on 2 Open Ice. We recently discovered Windjammers which is a pretty awesome game too. We've also played things like Simpsons and X-Men, but I find the competitive games to be more fun and could use some recommendations.

Currently, the games I have in my Hyperspin setup are based on this list from Reddit. Would love to get some comments on some hidden gems and CAG favorites that will keep me and my friends busy for the next few months. Cheers!

We dropped so many quarters into WWF Wrestlefest that we considered buying a cabinet.

Final Fight and Golden Axe. Pretty much any side scrolling beat-em-up is worth the multiplayer experience.
