I'd like to get me a nice office chair for my bedroom to play videogames on. I would really like to get one around the $100 mark. Walmart seems to have a few but the reviews are so hit or miss it kinda scares me off and I hear "gaming" chairs are a waste of money.

Would really appreciate some insight on this sorta thing. Thanks so much.

I own that one. Comfy as hell, paid $59.99 in January. It goes on and off Sale a lot. I recommend watching slickdeals or just browsing the Staples/Office Depot websites and looking at chair sales. If it's not on sale this week, it'll be on sale at least once this month.

What about this one?

Lots of great reviews and right in my price range

That one looks similar. I worked at Depot for a while so that's the only reason I know anything about these haha. The manager chairs are usually way more comfortable than the task chairs so that one is probably good to go. If you have a staples near you I'd go try them out first though.

If you are going to be in that chair for a while at a time you may want to spend a few more $ and get a better chair. Or about every year or so you will be replacing it since the padding goes out in them really quick and you will have back and butt pain.

i have that chair as well. bought Oct. 13, 2013 and it is just now starting to show wear on the bottom cushion where the "leather" is cracking. i stopped in staples the other day to look for a replacement and happened to see that this chair carries a 5 year warranty. i called up the warranty number, they had me email them my copy of the receipt, and i have a new bottom seat section 6 calendar days after contacting them. pretty painless.

as far as my usage, i would say that i sit in it for an average of 5 hours a day, i'm 185lbs. and i use it on a plastic chair mat over carpet.

back when i bought mine, it was on sale for $89.99 and then i bought a "$25 off $75" coupon from ebay (looks like they go for about $8 now) that brought it down to $64.99

Do you have an IKEA store near you? I found a really comfy chair for about $60 or so there. I've been using it daily for the past year or so and have loved it. With that being said, you're gonna need to find something comfortable for you. Don't be afraid to spend a bit more money... this is your body we're talking about, and the last thing I'd want is for you to not be able to relax and unwind while gaming. Is your gaming setup at a desk? I recommend going into a store like Staples and sitting for periods of time within the various chairs. Avoid the temptation to order a chair from the internet as you have no way of knowing if it will be comfortable or not, due to the amount of variables involved. Go back a few times until you find one you like -- it may seem silly and unneeded, but given how uncomfortable many office chairs are, I find it to be beneficial. Office chairs have a huge possibility of causing back problems because often times they're poorly manufactured.

Also, I definitely avoid against gaming chairs. I had one once and let me just say that the electronics of the chair were very poorly put together -- additionally, it just wasn't very comfortable, which is the main point of a chair.
