Some office friends(including my boss) are visiting your beautiful city for not a long period and have some questions regarding places to visit and shopping places especially for electronics.

I thought its better to ask from people who live there to ensure best use of available time and avoid tourist traps...

I may be able to help. It just depends on the questions since as a "local" I have not done a lot of the tourist type stuff even though I have lived here 17 years.

Thanks. My colleagues will reach intn'l airport at about 11 am and leave by 9:30 pm. They will have around 7-8 hours to visit some land marks and do some shopping.. Can you suggest some places they can visit especially a shopping place closer to the airport.

I assume they are going to go through customs in Atlanta and have to get their bags.  If so, your estimate on time is way high since they would then have to go back through security then after leaving.

There is not really any place with good shopping I know near the airport.  I would be really hesitant to leave to try and do very much at all.  What exactly are they wanting to shop for?

electronics mainly, cameras, headphones, mp3 players etc etc..

329 platinums??? holy s***!! i had 80 when i used to play on PS and i thought of myself as a bad ass.. lol

There are no Best Buy stores really close.  The easiest one to get to is probably the one south of the airport in Morrow.  If they decide to go that way then BrandsMart is also an option.  It will have super inexpensive electronics, but a lot of it is mass produced cheap Chinese made stuff.

If they go that route, it would pretty much kill any possible tourist type activities.  With their tight time limit, I personally would not advise trying to do any of that anyway.

Sam, if they go that route, I enjoyed World of Coke and the Aquarium when I lived in Atlanta.  CNN & Centennial Park are nearby so they could also check that out.  Their best bet would be to take MARTA from the airport to the nearby stations (Civic Center or Peachtree on the red/gold lines) and walk from there.
