Best Buy - Free $10 Gift Card With PreOrder of The Talos Priniciple: Deluxe Edition

Thanks OP. I canceled my existing preorder for it - and then just re-preordered it. Gotta secure that $10 GC. Thanks again.

 
In these types of deals where you get the gift card first, is it possible to apply the GC to the game purchase once you receive it (the GC)?

yes, but you have to order 50 copies of the game for it to error out and give you all the GCs for free. Just order 50, let them ship the GCs, and then go back and cancel the games and you will make $500. Easy money!!

 
Kinda weird that:

1. It's a gift card and not just a credit on my account

and

2. That they already shipped it.

Whatev!  I miss Amazon, but GCU and these credits too good to pass up.

 
Just got an email from BB that the new release date for The Talos Principal is 10/13. (Pretty sure the August date was a placeholder anyway.)

 
Just looked at the best buy page and it seems that they no longer offer the gift card with pre-order. Should have just done it when I first saw the thread.

I'm all for working the system, but you just plain old want to rip the off.

Hehe. I didn't notice the dates. I wasn't here 3 months ago.

When I saw this page I thought "damn where did this come from that I missed it?"

Hmm.  They charged me for it, too.  Fun.

Edit:  But the game is $40, instead of the $50 I think it was supposed to be.  That's probably the easiest way to prevent return/cancel shenanigans.  Not that anyone would ever try to scam BB out of a $10 gift card.

Don't forget about GCU. It's $50 and becomes $40 with GCU and on top of that your suppose to get a $10 giftcard for free. I contacted support about it and haven't heard anything back yet.

When did they charge you? My gift card shipped out a long time ago and I was charged nothing. In fact, I still haven't been charged anything on the whole order. My order correctly reflects $40 for the game (with GCU) and $0 for the $10 gift card.
