PS2 Games Still 75% Off At Gamestop

Walked into a local gamestop and they had all their PS2 games out with the 75% sale off sign. Most of them were Rock Band, Guitar Hero and Singstar Games. But was able to pick up a few titles like Jak and Daxter, and some of the Ratchets. This was the store on Aramingo in Philadelphia. Employees there told me only a few stores in every area still have PS2 games, so I would call ahead.

True, and because so few GameStop stores have (quality) PS2 games it's worth breaking that rule.
 
OP, can you compare prices in store to prices online? Do the online prices already reflect the discount?
 
I called a lot lol.

I missed out on a smash bros melee and this was last summer..

 
Just the sale I was waiting for. Now I can finally afford to buy PS2 games.

Do they even have PS2 games with cases and manuals? I only see discs near the counter in paper holders. Not too appealing if that's all you get. The last time I bought PS2 games was when they were clearing a bunch of titles 10 for $1 complete with case and manuals. The guy ringing it up was amazed.

There's some stuff online but most of it is sports, music, or dance dance.  Keep in mind if this is the last of the stuff then it'll probably be like the Gamecube games that wouldn't work or would error out soon after loading since they try to buff the crap out of them.

a friend of mine in texas works at a gamestop that still has ps2 games.  like said before, it pretty much is nothing but music games like ddr, guitar hero and rockband.  they do the 75% off thing but he said they also do a buy 1 get 3 for free, or maybe it was more then 3?  either way they REALLY want to get rid of the games at this point.  if i can find a ps2 ddr pad, ill probably have him buy me them for me and send em out

 
People still buy ps2 games much?  If so id recommend the PS2 version of Need for Speed hot pursuit 2.   It was actually a completely diffrent game with a diffrent engine and developer on the xbox and pc versions.  The ps2 version is by far the best racing game of all time IMO.   It was pushed aside because people would play the pc or xbox versions and see it as a mediocre racing game.  On PS2 its a masterpiece.  Play it and be amazed.  Its also a split screen player dream racer.

Great game. Got it at the thrift store for $2. Now is a good time to find PS2 games for cheap at the thrift stores before they hit retro status in a few years.

 
They had a lone bin of PS2 discs at my GameStop. If you fckin love Guitar Hero and SingStar, this deal is for you. I know I was more happier than a pig in shit.

I think their only options are going to be to chuck em, use them as skeet shooting practice, in frisbee golf, or make a Halloween outfit by gluing them to a shirt and jeans and going as PS2 Music Disc Man.

 
anybody know how accurate the check store availability is? a few decent games near me say they are in stock but I dont wanna go all the way out there to strike out

 
It's pretty accurate. I actually have the employee print out a list for me of all the PS2 games they have and highlight the ones I want. Also do this with the PSP games which are still Buy 2 Get 2 Free.
 
I actually know one GS that still gets PS2 games sent from other GS stores. Last time I checked at this store which was like a couple weeks ago, the pile below has been cutted in half.

Almost assuredly not. Those went 75% off years ago. The only thing OG Xbox you might find now is the random accessory. (stores near me still had GBA accessories for several years after the games were gone)

And this is actually "75% off again" not still. For a month or so they were 10/$10.

Also, the $.02 PS2 games ring up free again.

EDIT: lol, they still have the GBA accessories.
