So my wife cracked her screen this past week. Just the glass it appears as I see no lcd leakage.

I was wondering what my best option is to replace it? Skill level? Best kit, etc. She can get the 5s but it is 100 from Verizon. Got a quote for 105. Seems steep to me. I was wondering if anyone had some experience with it?

Thanks

Apple replaced my wife's iPhone 6 screen for $100. After replacement it wouldn't boot and they just gave her a new one.

I don't know the price for the 5 but why not have them do it? If they can't, they'll replace.

Hmm. Figured Apple would be more. I'll have to check. Thanks!

When I shattered my iPhone 5 screen I just bought a replacement one along with the required screwdriver on eBay for about $55 combined. Replace it myself... took about 10 minutes, not too tough but helps to have a friend to help hold up the old screen at 90 degree angle while you unscrew another small piece and detach ribbon cable.

Are there different levels of quality when it cones to kits? Apple seems to want 129. Thanks!

I really don't know if it's a different grade screen. It worked fine, no issues with touch sensitivity that I noticed. I've since upgraded to the 6 Plus though.

If you sell it, don't sell it to a person without letting them know that it is a different screen. The replacement screens are not as responsive or look as good as the originals. I fixed mine, took me about an hour and was probably like a 5 out of 10 on the difficulty part. There is a lot of little screws and pieces so make sure you right down step by step on everything you do

I just upgraded her to the 6. Best buy had it for 99 so came to be only a new case price as being the difference. Going to try and sell it to cover the costs.
