Best Buy: Select Universal Studios Blu-ray Discs for $4.99

My store showed unavailable for the Blues Brothers Steelbook but when I got to the cardboard display for these they had about 5 of them on there. Also said the same thing for Harry and the Hendersons but they had 2-3 copies left of that to. My guess is when they get these cardboard displays they don't register for instore pick up. I had the same experience a few weeks ago during b1g1 free sale on the $7.99 titles.

I'll be picking up Rush since I've heard nothing but good things about the film. I might pick up The Place Beyond the Pines. I loved the film but it seems like it's only a one time viewing film.

This brings up a thing that I absolutely hate about Best Buy. For years, I didn't shop there because their selection and prices were shit. Now, I'm at least checking them out more as they've become pretty price aggressive. I love the in store pick-up, but I hate having to shop there when I can't get pick-up. When I go in looking for something that's on sale, it's always a hunt to actual find the damn thing.

So when I went there looking for The Blues Brothers and Scarface, I naively assumed they could be found in their respective genres in the movies section. Nope (though I did find a non-Steelbook Scarface at three times the cost.) I then looked for a sales section in the movies. No luck there. I actually looked up this post and caught "cardboard display." So I'm looking around the movies for that. No dice. Finally found the smallish display on the other side of the store, almost in the cell phones. Never would have though to look there. Guess that's why I don't make the seven figure salary.

TLDR: Dear Best Buy, put shit in the section where it belongs. Thanks.

So far I got Slapshot, Harry and the Hendersons, and the Blues Brothers steelbook. I am thinking about going back to get at least Rush and maybe The Place Beyond the Pines.

There seem to be a lot more five dollar blu-rays than just the ones that show up in that link. When I did a search under the normal part of the site, I got 6 pages instead of three.

6 pages of Universal Blu-rays for $5? Because that's what this sale is about.

Visited a Bestbuy that had most of the titles in a separate display. So many stores in the NYC area, you can't find anything unless you bought it online with in-store pickup. Anyway, they had many copies of each at Kings Plaza and I'm really surprised since most Bestbuys, you'll be lucky to see even 5 copies of each title at the beginning of the sale.

Got: Scarface (Steelbook), Blues Brothers (Steelbook), Rush, The Grey, Cowboys&Aliens, A Beautiful Mind and The Place Beyond the Pines.

Haven't been to Kings Plaza in years. Looks like they made the mall higher-end than the last time I was there, so much so that the two Gamestops that I thought was there is now gone. Anyway, as Bestbuys go in NYC, this one looks better than most. The one closest to me is so bad, I almost never find what I'm looking for.

Nice find. Looks like I'll have to haunt the local store tho as Blues Brothers isn't showing up as available on line or in store. Weird.
Off topic a bit but I am hoping Universal will eventually redo Blues Brothers on Blu with DTS-MA sound instead of the DTS track on the current Blu. That movie badly needs the higher resolution/bitrate audio track.

Dont get 'American Tail'.

Absolute garbage speacial features for an otherwise fantastic animated movie. Dodged a bullet there.
