HAVE YOU BOUGHT A SYSTEM FOR ONE GAME

I have bought an xbox one just for the rare replay.   I bought the orginal xbox just for doom 3.    I just wondering if anybody else has done this or am I the only crazy one to do this

I intend to buy an Xbox one again when Dead Island 2 comes out, but I'll buy one cheap enough that I'll make some money on it...which covers the loss on buying a new game. Then after I beat it, all of it gets sold. I did this for Infamous on ps4.

I was going to hold off one the PS3 for a while, that changed when I had a chance to play Uncharted 2 at a friends house.  I ended up buying a ps3 that weekend

i buy every nintendo console just for smash bros.zelda and others are just a bonus.i never owned any type of ds till smash 3ds came out.

NightWarriors for the Saturn. In fact, I owned the game weeks before the system! I wound up buying a lot of other games for it, though.

I guess Wario Land VB would count too. I had a Virtual Boy for a few weeks and this was the only game really worth playing on it.

I know 3 PS4 people who will be buying an Xbox One just for the timed exclusive Tomb Raider. Once the game releases for PS4, they will sell the Xbox One.

Yeah original xbox just for halo. It became just a halo machine and it was a waste. Own my original xbox for over a decade with only about 6 games. Two of them halo 1&2. I have no desire to collect for the system. If its multiplat id rather get it on PS2. Xbox is too dam heavy.

When I go to invest in a console I tend to make sure there are a few games I would want for the system that id buy and enjoy.

I wouldn't go out buying a turbographx 16 or Neo geo AES if I only wanted to play one game on the system. :speaktothehand: :shame:

I bought a PSP for Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep. There were a few other games I wanted to play on it, but not enough to pay for a PSP at that time. But I needed Birth By Sleep Day 1 so I got a PSP just for it. Then I picked up other PSP games I wanted, like Final Fantasy Tactics and Star Ocean.

I got an xbox one just because it was an amazing amazon warehouse deal... Ahahah

Hi, my name is Joao and i am a gameaholic :D

I bought an original Xbox for Shenmue 2, as Sega axed the DC release in NA and I wanted to continue the story.

Also got a Dreamcast for Resident Evil Code: Veronica, since it was the only system that had it at the time(Christmas 2000).  Just didn't expect support to pulled for the system a couple months later.

I didn't buy it but I wanted a Game Boy just for Tetris. My brother's friend lent him the system and Tetris and he let me play it for a bit and I was hooked. My dad eventually got one for me a few weeks later. It was my first game console.

The only other system I bought just for 1 game was the Dreamcast. I was never a huge fighting game fan but I wanted SoulCalibur so bad. And holy shit, was it worth it.

I bought the original Xbox for Shenmue II.  360, for Assassin's Creed.  PS3, for Valkyria Chronicles.

I would buy an Xbox One for Rare Replay.

I would buy a Playstation 4 for Shenmue III.

Yes, in 5th grade I bought a Game Boy just for Pokemon. It was the clear plastic one which I thought was awesome. I think it was $50 used at Funcoland.

These days I do most of my gaming on PC so it's definitely taking longer for the consoles to build up a worthwhile portfolio of exclusives. If MGS5 or Dark Souls 3 were console-exclusive though I don't think I'd be able to keep myself away from the PS4 any longer.

Definitely have done this.  Let me see ...

N64 for Mario 64

PSone for Metal Gear Solid

PS2 for Metal Gear Solid 2

Dreamcast for Resident Evil Code Veronica

And most recently, Wii U for Bayonetta 2 :)

I don't think so. For me, it was mainly getting the console as I was always late to the party. And every console I got I ended up getting with games, so I always got games.

Saturn for NiGHTS. The Saturn was $29.99 at Toys R Us and I bought NiGHTS for $0.99 used at Blockbuster. EB was giving the 3D controller for free with any Saturn game purchase so I bought Sonic R for $7.99, the other game I really wanted for the console.

Neo Geo Pocket Color for Sonic The Hedgehog. Again it was Toys R Us that had the deal that made me buy it since it was marked down to $10 for the system bundled with Sonic.

I was also going to say N64 for Mario 64 but I don't think I really bought it just for that game since I was also really looking forward to other games being released later like Mario Kart.

I bought an XBox 360 last month mainly just so I could play Jet Set Radio Future again.  Had an original XBox years ago, and it was pretty much the only game I ever played on it - everything else worth playing was already available on PS2.  But I was pleasantly surprised with the 360, as there are a good ~10 worthwhile exclusives.

I've been considering going OP's route and buying an xbone for Rare Replay, but other than that and Sunset Overdrive, there's literally nothing else I'd buy for it in the next year.

I forgot that I bought a Neo Geo Pocket Color for no specific reason and I paid full price. I ended up eventually getting Cardfighter's Clash (which was great) but I have no idea why I originally bought it. Never bought another game until 2005 when EBgames randomly got a bunch of cheap loose carts.

I bought an Xbox One just for Sunset Overdrive. Eventually also got Dead Rising 3.

I got a PS4 just because of limited edition Batman. Still sealed though and haven't played anything for PS4 yet.

Way back I got a Sega Genesis for Sonic & Knuckles.

I bought s PS2 For Devil May Cry. Walked into a gamestop on a lunch break and I fell in love. Walked out with a PS2 And a fully paid off reserve for it.

If the Final Fantasy VII remake is PS4 only I will. Or shit even if it's timed (which I'm betting since Sony is poor) I will still buy one to play it until the One version comes out.

Just about every system I have owned I bought for a single game or reason.

Sega Dreamcast - Resident Evil: Code Veronica.

Nintendo Gamecube - Resident Evil 4.

Sony Playstation - Resident Evil.

Sony PS2 - GTA III

N64 - WCW/NWO Revenge

Sega Genesis - Cyberball. Huge disappointment as the port was nothing like the arcade version at all. Glad I found PGA Tour Golf, Phantasy Star II and later Shining Force 1 & 2 to drown my sorrows. :) Also Altered Beast came with the console so wasn't all bad.

Sega CD - Shining Force CD

Colecovision - Donkey Kong. It came packaged with Donkey Kong so that worked out well.

Nintendo Wii - Punchout. I actually got a really nice red Wii in mint condition on Craigslist for $40 and I just got it for a free way to stream Netflix into the bedroom as Xbox Live still needed a gold membership at that time to watch Netflix and I am not an online gamer so no reason to pay for gold back then. Was a Punchout fan from back in the arcade era and then the Mike Tyson version and Super Punchout for SNES was cool so Punchout was the first game I bought for the Wii.

Xbox 360 - Resident Evil 5. I may have a Resident Evil problem as I bought 4 systems just to play the games. :)

The Vita for Sly Cooper (didn't have a ps3 at the time and the Vita was cheaper)

PS3 for 3D Dot Game Heros

Neo Geo Pocket Color for the Sonic game on it

GameCube for Animal Crossing

All Nintendo devices sans GC for Legend of Zelda

I intend to buy an Xbox one again when Dead Island 2 comes out, but I'll buy one cheap enough that I'll make some money on it...which covers the loss on buying a new game. Then after I beat it, all of it gets sold. I did this for Infamous on ps4.
Why would you get the Xbox version when it's almost guaranteed the PS4 version will have exclusive content?

I bought an Xbox One just for Sunset Overdrive. Eventually also got Dead Rising 3.

I got a PS4 just because of limited edition Batman. Still sealed though and haven't played anything for PS4 yet.

Way back I got a Sega Genesis for Sonic & Knuckles.
haha my limited edition psOne ps4 is still sealed....with no games to play....yes I need immediate help

but the Atari Jaguar....we didnt intend to only get the 4 games we got with it, but thats exactly what happened. yes I know you said one game for one system....but close enough.

Wii U is close enough....only got one or two games, then for reasons beyond my control I couldnt play it for a year....come back and find out the Wii U is broken after maybe 30 hours of playtime. only nintendo system I've had break on me.
