No tax with gift card or store credit at Gamestop?

I can never seen to remember this! I have got them confused again lol, I'm trying to decide if I should move my Gamestop credit else where to purchase my Destiny ps4 bundle. I remember them not taking tax out for either gift cards or store credit but I can't remember which, can someone refresh my memory?

should b no tax on store credit.  cause gift cards people purchase and there is no need to pay tax on them.  so if they give the gift card to someone else. sales tax burden will b on them

The "no tax on purchases made with store credit" is a state-by-state / area-by-area scenario. 

Assuming the OP lives in an area where that's the case, it would be store credit that would work out for no tax on purchases.
