So I'm new to the Xbox one system and I bought a 25$ Xb point card and I bought something for 19.99 and I got charged 1.75 for tax so I have 3.26 lefted in my account

Have you ever used a gift card before? That's basically what "Xb point cards" are now. They're Microsoft gift cards. You pay sales tax the same as you would using a gift card anywhere else.

Might be remembering wrong but the last time I bought a point card from Wal-Mart they charged me tax. I don'y buy a lot of point cards from them so it might just be memory failing me but I know at least a few of them never had any tax added onto them nor did non-MS gift cards I bought from them. Don't know if that's a new thing for them or just the MS point cards. And on an unrelated note thanks to my shitty town adopting a home rule setting the first they are enacting is a one percent sales tax increase...fucking lovely.

Blame your local governments, not Microsoft.  They're the ones who are requiring tax to be charged, as MS isn't just doing it randomly to piss you off.

Try checking into this before making useless threads like this one where no one gives a shit.

How come there's no taxes on Psn games or Points

It's understandable, lots of places online are doing it now. Amazon was the big one, I think there's less than 5 states that don't require them to collect now but eventually those last few will start making them do it. It blows but nothing you can do about it. Just another tax you have to get used to but really considering you can't even die in this fucking country without them taxing you it's not hard to believe at all.

Thank you for summing up the problem. a) You can do something about it. Careful whom you vote into office. We often forget, we are the government. b) No, no you do not have to get used to it. This why they will just add another tax, because most people do not bother to complain. It is never a taxing problem with governments, it is always a spending problem. Delaware, Montana, Oregon, and New Hampshire have no sales tax, and they will stay that way as long as residents of those states vote that way.

Ultimately, the issue of taxes is a problem created by voters not saying no

Take it to the political forum, chief. Not the place for telling people how to think.

No thanks, we don't want him any more than the rest of the site does.
Sometimes I think he has to be a troll with some of the posts he makes. I think someone can't be that stupid. But then I remember the girl in my third grade class that sat there and ate her boogers all day.

No, I have seen way too much evidence over the years to think he's anything but a stupid booger eater from the third grade.

Wait a minute.

Given:  I have never bought an Xbox money card.  Bought points cards back in the day.  Bought a $20 PSN card and an Amazon gift card, fairly recent.  I wasn't charged tax.

So there is a chance if I bought a $25 Xbox card, physical or digital, I would be charged tax?  Thanks ahead.

I don't get charged tax when I buy cards, or when I make purchases with the cards. Not sure if it would be different if I used a credit card on the store.

I don't get charged tax buying the cards, and now that I switched my billing address to Delaware (thanks Scientology!) I don't get charged tax at all!

Read your tax forms people, you are required to pay taxes on EVERYTHING you buy that is taxed in your state. So even if you order something online and you don't pay taxes at the time of sale, you are legally required to document that on your taxes and pay those taxes with your return. Btw, intangible items like digital software are taxed just as fairly as intangible services like your cell phone can be taxed also. Welcome to 'Murica.

Yup...and you should definitely not overlook those things because everybody else is 100% honest and fair...especially big business and one percenters.

That's 'Murica's biggest joke...making us feel guilty about pennies while they embezzle thousands upon thousands of dollars.
