New Seagate Xbox One 2TB drive 89.99

Seagate has terrible reliability records so others are going to echo this. Best bet is the WD My Passport Ultra for the same price. Got one this weekend and it's wonderful.

Is this 7200rpm?
I highly doubt it, they branded this specifally to use with xbone even thought it's literally just an external drive and by the looks of it, it's probably to big to use as an internal on a console

This is the best feature:

Xbox will ask you to name your Game Drive. “PlanetSera”, “MasterChief”, or your gamertag—it’s up to you how you make it your own.

You know? That feature that works with any external drive? That thing that's not really a feature but a way to differentiate drives that's been done forever?

Avoid Western Digital. Their customer service is totally incompetent. In the event you do get a faulty drive their RMA process is a joke. I had a 6tb hard drive starting to fail so I sent it in and they told me they're sending it back saying I damaged the pins and they won't honor the warranty. It's a flat out lie as I've hardly ever even used the drive and I take care of my things. They immediately voided the serial number and warranty status on the site and I've been waiting over a month to even get my drive back! Everytime I call they tell me they're sending it back, they just need to take pictures first for their records. What a joke. I've never had a problem with Seagate for all these years (knock on wood) so I'd rather take the chance with them than deal with the crooks over at WD.

Avoid Hard-drives at all costs. They're completely unreliable and useless. I prefer banker boxes.
:)

I have used Toshiba, WD and Seagates and not had any problems with any of them. I think the issue is that products will always have a certain fail rate. If your toaster fails, you buy a new one and get over it. If your hard drive dies, you lose your mind and are left with a disdain for that manufacturer. The importance of the product largely relates to people's perspectives.

I've had two Seagate HDDs fail and one WD fail. Out of...oh I don't know, two or three dozen HDDs that are laying around the house in various computers, consoles, and enclosures. Only one flash drive went bad after using it excessively during my high school and community college years (read: eight years). Then it died when I went to Arizona State.

I have had nothing but good luck with Western Digital drives and own a couple dozen of them. I've not had any issues with their support or their reliability. I also have a half-dozen Seagate / Samsung drives and have had no issues with their reliability or their support.

If you've had such issues with WDC sending back your drive as well as supporting the drive, call their corporate office and ask to speak with their executive customer relations or the company president. You'll end up speaking with someone that can find out what's going on and fix the issue with getitng your drive back or even replacing your drive.

Thanks I'm going to look up their contact info. It's bad enough they're accusing me of sending them a damaged hard drive, let alone not even sending it back to me. Everytime I call they just apologize profusely and tell me to wait a while longer. I ask them how much longer the process might take and they tell me it's received and waiting to be transferred to another department for pictures and I'll get it back within a few days (they've been saying that for over a month)...

Here you go:

Phone #: 949.672.7000

Make sure you have your RMA # handy when you call them, as they'll need that to look it up.

I needed do that once for a drive that had an issue with warranty verification that was in their system wrong, so when I kept knocking heads with their TS about replacing it, I went that route and ended up with someone that fixed the issue and well beyond the minimums.

grabbed the Red 1TB at Target for $50 for my sons Xbox one, works great, whole lot more storage, can't wait to get my 2TB now.

Got it today, very cool looking Green Xbox on one side, nice black on the other, formatted then started downloading my whole collection, no more deleting games for a while.

I have seen this argument go on for what seems like a decade now lol.

Avoid seagate, their hard drives are trash.

No, avoid Western Digital, their hard drives sucks.

Apparently, they are both garbage. Everyone loses lol.

I have worked on computers for years pc, mac, laptops, and IMO I have had more Seagates crash, but also have had a few WDs crash also. Seagates (Maxtor) tend to be a little faster than WD performance wise, and I think that is part of it.
