Also, that's the first time I've ever been accused of being a Jeff Foxworthy fan. Lol. Should have considered it's probably more of a Midwest thing but the Golden Corral discussion in this episode is pretty accurate.

I distrust the porn stats you quoted, for the simple reason that only nineteen people own Wii U consoles. So if one guy happens to like hentai and watches on his Wii U, he's suddenly statistically significant in drawing the conclusion that "X percent of Wii U owners like this type of porn."

The entirety of the Wii U user base is within the margin of error.

I watched the other day as a BB employee sold a vanilla Xbone with the 1 TB  HD to a customer.  He was standing 2 feet away from the Madden bundle.  I almost said something, but I'm sure this BB employee was trying to push stock or something.  I just wanted to get my copy of MGSV and get home to start playing.

I had ultra high expectations for MGSV considering the love that multiple outlets have showered on this game.  It's not a bad game.  I'm not that far into it.  But, I'm not having fun.  I try to take different approaches to each mission like hiding in the back of the truck to get into the village.  I somehow always get spotted and just end up murdering everyone anyway.  I might just be horrible at the game, don't have the right gear or just not playing it the right way.  Haven't played a MGS game in 10 years.  I just end up turning it off after a couple hours and playing Rocket League.

Did Shipwreck admit that he is drinking while playing Mario Maker?  Drunken Platforming?  How many Marios must die before we will learn our lessons?

The Wombat Ghost Writer Mystery. The Velma explanation is that Sabrina opened the box, read some of the letters and copied the style of what she saw. Not exactly the hardest Scooby-Doo case to solve. As Wombat said, his aunt was probably overemotional and read more into it than anyone else would.

So a dead woman somehow figures how to channel a message to her daughter by inhabiting the mind/body/spirit of her granddaughter and the best she can come up with is "Happy New Year"? In September?  I rate this a 2 out of 10 on the Unsolved Mysteries scale.

Also...as a fellow Ohioian that has eaten at Golden Corral i can confirm that Shipwreck has made the right call in avoiding the place.  The food there rates a 10/10 on the Unsolved Mysteries scale.

Cheapy, I actually live in Kansas City, MO and I can tell you why it takes 10 days. While most cities would get it to you quicker than that, we have a cost-cutting but slower method of cow delivery. We generally strap bags of mail to whatever wandering cow is nearby and at some point they all pass main street (main street being the only street) and we have job called "Heffer Helper" where someone just grabs the mail from the cow. Then they load it into a horse and buggy and deliver it to a regular mail center in 3 or 4 days.

It may not be practical by you city boys' standards but it's a way of life here, gawl dern it.

I don't have a wii u but am somewhat interested in Mario Maker so I watched some "best levels of the week" style videos and there's a lot of cool stuff.

The thing with the 16 digit code is such a bummer though, makes it such a chore to seek out new levels. I read apparently the reason why they don't use QR codes for the maps is because people have hacked the wii u via QR before otherwise that would be been the best solution.

Also i'm with Cheapy on Forza 6 - once you've played Horizon or Driveclub its pretty boring going back to just driving around tracks all the time.

It was during Rosh Hashana, the Jewish New Year.

I'd distrust any porn stats coming from anyone in the industry more for the fact that they are notorious liars when it comes to anything that makes them look more successful than they are. As one example, there was an industry claim going around a while ago claiming the porn industry brought in more money than every other form of entertainment, including pro sports, combined. People kept repeating it as fact even though it was easily disproved.

But I did find the Nintendo/hentai connection amusing, true or not.

There is a Marvel playset coming for Disney Infinity 3.0. In early 2016. Just like the Force Awakens one they're not talking about it until it gets closer to release.

I enjoyed the Wombat story. Whether it's magic, coincidence, a ghost or whatever. It made someones day better and let them remember a loved one.

That is a freaky story sir. Though it might be closer that Sabrina might be a skilled forger when she grows up.

Target is getting rid of its Vita games. They are also getting rid of their pharmacy division to CVS, and this is also while one store's pharmacologists have unionized.

My nearest Target was already either picked clean or well past giving a shit when I scoped out the lone Vita shelf after Shipwreck's tweet earlier this week.  Tearaway was still twenty-one bucks, so I bought Super Monkey Ball Banana Splitz for $6 because I hate myself.  Now I'm curious enough to check out the next nearest Target this weekend, though.  Thanks for the heads up!

Thanks for sharing the story Wombat. I find as I get older(42) I hear these stories come out. If you treat people with respect when they share them you will find you hear more and more. Who knows if they are real experiences or not but I love to hear them. They are more common than you would think.

I know you guys kind of made fun of the announcement at this year's E3 for the Xbox1 chatpad, but I've had one on my 360 for years and I love it. Point being, makes it super easy to type in codes, direct message folks on my friends list, or browse websites. Makes me wonder if that's why Xbox had longer search entries than the others.

That being said...when you guys were talking about how much of an impossible pain in the ass it would be to type something in on a console web browser, it reminded me of trying to watch Cinemax or Showtime late night on an early 80s cable box. As a preteen, I would go to a lot of lengths to see some boobs. Surely nothing has changed with "kids these days" except the technology.

I like the Ghost Writer story.  But I have to admit I thought Cheapy's reaction was pretty funny.

Plus I have to admit I enjoyed the show Ghost Writer.

Cheapy, make sure to save the code inside the Disney Infinity 2.0 gift for Tai if you want to play the game for free on your PC PC PC PC. The download is free and with the code you get the digital version of everything you bought without making in-app purchases.

Disney Infinity 2.0: Play Without Limits

Thanks for bringing back Golden Corral memories. My wife and I a couple years ago went down from Toronto (where we lived) to the US for a few days road trip. On our way back, our last stop was Erie PA, which is mecca for cross-border shopping. You guys have a lot of chain reserants that we don't have - like "Steak and Lube", and usually they are pretty good. Being very hungry we decided on the Corral for dinner... It was interesting to see that it had just about everything you could want, but none of it was good. It was the absolute cheapest of ingrediants, cooked the pissed out of with no flavouring or care. The saddest part was seeing the obvious regular clientelle, so many morbidly obese people who can barely walk who I imagine eat there because it is cheap and they require so much food to feel satisfied. In Canada, buffet places tend to be expensive but more upscale.

Great Show! I found myself at Best Buy after listening and saw that they had the Hue starter sets on clearance.  I needed lights for my game room anyway and, after paying way too much for light bulbs, I am now definitely hooked.  Thanks Cheapy!

I saw those same stats. The problem is that it doesn't specify the exact console. For all we know, "Xbox", "Playstation", and "Wii" could be talking about previous gen consoles. I guess then it would become a matter of how old the data is, then.

I don't really get what Shipwreck meant about putting Mario Maker on a mobile platform. I'm assuming he meant 3DS, because the thought of testing my Mario Maker levels on a phone sounds like a unpleasant experience

Great show guys, I listened while out on my Sunday run.  You killed my mojo a bit with two big oversights that I kept waiting for someone to say/ask:

On the porn thing, Cheapy kept going on about how bad the experience of searching for porn is on a console.  Dude - it's not grown ass adults watching porn on their playstations!  I kept waiting for someone to point out that for many teenage boys, the playstation/xbox/wii is probably their best chance to sneak in a visit to uporn without getting caught.  And with that thought in mind, I believe Wombat is right and the numbers are probably higher than we think.

On the Sabrina "ghost writing" nobody ever asked what Sabrina had to say about the whole thing.  Did anyone ask her **why** she did that, and why she wrote what she wrote?  I mean, if she said "I have no memory of the entire incident" then cue the dramatic organs! Whereas if she said "I thought it was cool and wanted to write a note" then maybe there's nothing there.  I kept waiting for someone to ask this simple question and nobody did.  I have to strongly agree with Wombat (again? whoa) that in a situation like that, you aren't going to demand photo evidence from your aunt.

Anyway, great show as always!

Regarding the discussion of website statistics on console browsers... I work at a mainstream market research company, and most of our studies have a sample size of around 2000.  And while it's true that you'd get a more complete picture from straight website analytics (vs a voluntary questionnaire), it wouldn't surprise me if literally one user was responsible for a lot of those search terms.

Golden Corral is not good. I don't personally think it's bad, but it's not good. It's just low-tier buffet-style food. Sometimes I'm in the mood for that, though.

I saw the porn stats myself when they came out, and I also don't think very many people would be browsing porn on their console. I was thinking that maybe it's mainly teenagers who happen to have a console in their bedroom, but not a PC, so they use the console for their needs. But kids these days probably all have a laptop, 2 smartphones, and 3 iPads, so what do I know.

Judging people on their kinks, though? Come on, guys. You're better than that. (There also absolutely is Halo porn. It's mostly of Cortana.)
