Hm, tempting, I've been picking up the cheap toys-to-life sets just cause I like having them. Think this might go lower closer to the holidays/black friday?

You want it for less than $12? Ok

This probably is the black Friday price, specially for a playset plus most are getting the extra 20% off with GCU....Either way if you got the money buy now or just play 3.0

A decent deal if you need Merida and Stitch, need the Toy Box Game Power Discs, or just want a base for 3.0 digitally.

I was looking for both Toy Box discs, but already have Stitch and the PS4 game. Will try to trade them for some power discs or something perhaps. Also wanted a 3rd base for the storage unit I have (the base acts as a shelf) so for $13 I get a figure, the discs, a base, and possibly a decent trade. Not bad all all.

I wouldn't be surprised to see this for $5 - $10 on BF. There are a good amount of stores with excess stock of this and so would be great to get rid of them at that price, seeing as this has been this price before (with coupons).

Have 2.0 and 3.0 on my PS4 though I am tempted to get this just because it is so cheap for my X1.

Yes, but not in the franchise-specific playsets.

So I assume you can't put 3.0 figures on this or use the software?

Yes, the figures are forward compatible. I'm in for PS4 version.

The characters can go forward, but not backward.  A 1.0 works on 3.0 but a 3.0 doesn't work on 2.0, etc.  The stand, unless you have a 360 or Xbone, is useable on any platform (wii-U, Ps4, etc.).  In example, if you buy the digital version of 3.0 for the PS4 the stand will work on it.

if you buy this, you can buy the 3.0 Digital version for $30, and complete that game also.

Is the game in this set different from the one in the Marvel 2.0 set?

I thought only the figures would be different, but sounds like that may not be the case.

It doesn't come with the marvel playset. So all you can play is the toybox.

Is this something good for someone who would just want to play the Marvel and Star Wars stuff? I know almost nothing about it all, but have always wanted to try it.

Yes, but not in the franchise-specific playsets.

Oi I bought up most if not all of the older playsets from gamestop since they were part of the b2g3 but I didn't get the figures to play them with. Do you need everything that comes in the playset new? like both characters and any power discs?

I just wrapped my head around skylanders, well at least through trap team. Don't have to worry about Super Charges on your credit card until it's <$30

No, you just need at least one character that works in that specific playset (unless you want to co-op, of course, then you'd need 2). The power discs are never required for anything, they're stupid, don't buy them.

However, note that the playsets are only playable in that specific version of the game: ie, Pirates in OG Infinity, Avengers in 2.0, and now Star War shit in 3.0. If you place the playset piece on the portal in a newer version of the game, it will give you all the pieces of it for the toybox, but you can't actually play through the premade levels and story.

This will not work with the Star Wars stuff. Will work with the Marvel 2.0 figures. I personally had fun playing with the Marvel characters.

Would this game be fun for adults who love Disney movies? Or is it too kiddy?

Do the PS3/PS4 versions of this game share achievements? I haven't seen that before, so I am guessing no, though I have noticed that some Vita/PS3 games share the same achievement set as opposed to getting their own.

I'm feeling like for 11.99 it might be worth it to just grab the PS4 version of this (Even though I have the Marvel starter for PS3) for Merida, (Don't have her yet) the discs, and the fact that I can rack up a few more achievements for fun. I can trade in Stich and the base and get  3 or 4 dollars back, bringing the cost of this to under 10 bucks.
