Posting here since it's clearly not a gaming deal (as they really don't have gaming stuff anymore) and most likely YMMV.

Two days ago, I logged into my SYW account, which I hadn't done in months and found two $20 Surprise Points ($40), with one expiring yesterday, the other expiring next week. Restrictions were pretty basic (quoted below). I ended up using the expiring one at Kmart last night to buy a clearance Star Wars Black series Greedo and a few things for my kids for a whopping .56 out of pocket

I just logged in to my account this morning and they gave me another one that expires in two weeks. So, SYW just gave me $60 for no good reason. I haven't shopped there in about 6 months - just a regular member (not silver or any higher tier).

It's no wonder this place is spiraling into oblivion, but I'm not complaining.

Fine print from the surprise points:

Spend $20 or more on qualifying purchase. Items sold by Sears or Kmart. Excludes Lands End, Food, Household Cleaning, Beauty and Health Care, Fragrances, Cosmetics, Office and School Supplies, Batteries, Party Supplies sold in the Greeting Card department, Books and Magazines, Prescriptions, Pharmacy, Alcohol and Tobacco items, all coupons and other surprise points

I got a $20 one about a month ago, and then another a week ago.  Just logged in now, and I have two more available.  Crazy...

Weird. $60 in this short of time just seems like a glitch.

Regardless, I just cashed them out and got a few presents for the kids for free and Avengers AOU 3D for $5.

I just bought a 6' bookcase. Was 21.99. I had 20 on surprise points. Plus .88 I had in real points. Got it for 1.19. Nice!

Lame, I didn't get any free monies.  Then again, I haven't been to a Kmart or Sears in over a month.

It don't help that half them that used to be really close to me, closed over the years.

No actual electronics sections or video games doesn't help either.  Least in the ones closest to me.

"Would you like to sign up for Shop Your Way rewards?"

"No thanks, just give me the game."

(repeated ten times over the past two years)

Oh well, I'm a nincompoop.

I have been getting postcards in the mail about them. $20 each time starting last month and so far $60 total. 1 expiring this week and another expiring next week.

I have gotten 3x of these $20 off $20 surprise points this week. One of them, I tried to redeemed it in store, but was never able to. I could have used them Online, but shipping was way too high. I might give it another try next time in store with the other two.

They're a pain in the ass to use. It has to be at least $20 before tax, and if you have anything that excluded in your transaction, it won't allow it, so you have to do it separate

I get these all the time but I have a difficult time finding things to buy on the Kmart and Sears websites.
That's why I used them in-store. Their websites are garbage.

Lucky bastard, I get these shitty emails from them. "Open you just got Lucky :) " and then they give me $10 off in points when you spend $75. I hate their emails and they put damn emoji's in the subject lines.

I get these once every month or two.  They give out new "surprise points" offers every Thursday morning in your account.

Usually I get a different one in each of my accounts.

i got $40 wtf  not surprise point, real points that expire on dec 30

PSA: they're sending out emails with a "surprise points" award for Sears clothing.

I got $25 off $25 on one account, $20 off $20 on another, and nothing on my third.  (max is $25)
