Any CAG Best Buy employees here? (GCU + Employee discount question)

Just landed an interview at Best Buy, I was wondering what my employee discount is going to look like specifically pertaining to Wii U games/accessories/amiibo, as well as consoles such as the New 3DS. I also have GCU and I'm assuming it will stack with my employee discount. Also, say there is a B1G1 sale, will my GCU AND employee discount stack with the deal?

In terms of how the employee discount works, I've read online everything from "the discount was incredible years ago but today unfortunately only meets with the industry standard, and the only great deals you'll find are on accessories such as hdmi cables and batteries" to "the employee discount is the best part of the job and destroys the industry standard," so let me know the truth of the matter once and for all guys.

Also, I heard something online about computers being heavily discounted if they're sold at Best Buy exclusively or something? Can anyone confirm this as well? I doubt it's true but would appreciate a response anyway

To start the only retail gig I ever did was EB Games nearly a decade ago so I can't offer much advice on discounts. However, Best Buy runs a used/refurb website known as Cowboom which is where a lot of their PCs/consoles go to. I'm sure you will have at least a 10% discount on everything and I wouldn't be surprised if it also stacked w/ GCU.

You will probably get a lot of good loot on Black Friday though.

I knew of CowBoom but didn't even think of the possibility of getting consoles/pcs cheaper there! :hot: That would be incredible but until I have someone to confirm I'm definitely not gonna get my hopes up as that sounds too good to be true.

As far as Black Friday is concerned, I hope I can find a way to save big that day, but I'll be SOL if my shift begins when the doors open, because otherwise it'll be too late before I can buy anything worthwhile.

When I worked for BB, the discount was at cost plus, I think, 5%. Didn't take much off movies or games. Not sure if it's changed.

Im a bb employee and no your discount and gcu don't stack. And when you pre-order make sure you dont apply your discount to pay for it becuase it wont take any more money off but the 10 dollar pre-order promo won't work.
