IT'S HERE!!! Use the code SUZY for half off -- no idea why that's the code, but there you go.

Purchases of $100 or more (before tax or shipping, which is an odd stipulation since shipping would be free if you're anywhere close to $100) get you some bag with the Criterion logo as a bonus.

Especially good since they had that offer not long ago to link a Facebook account for ten free bux in cred.

Everyone post yr haul!

Edit: err, actually I'm too broke and since it's half off full price, guess I'm just going to have to console my self with the two Criterion Beatles Laserdiscs I got for $10 the other day.

Yeah but half off full price is the cheapest they ever get. Unfortunately.

Still, I got:

- Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence

- A Man Escaped

- The Confession

- Dressed to Kill

- Days of Heaven (I know, I should have already had this, sue me)

- Blow Out

And now I'm like 10 points from a $50 certificate! Now I play the waiting game until the next flash sale...

I'm hoping to get enough cash to buy Cronos and The Devil's Backbone. But if not, there's always the Fall sale.

WORD. Both great. I would really like a Criterion release of Pan's Labyrinth, hopefully it's in the works.

And at this point I keep expecting Barnes and Noble to explode any day now, so I'm not counting the November sale as an inevitability.

I actually saw both movies years ago before knowing the same person directed both... and without realizing he also directed Pacific Rim. And worked on a TV show I used to watch as a kid.

So yeah I'm a fan. #GiveUsHoraMarcadaTelevisa

There's a special feature on the Cronos BR that's just Del Toro walking you through his weirdo house full of collectible bullshit, it's great. Turns out he's way into Akira, which makes sense, I suppose. Mimic is the only bad movie he's ever made, likely due to Hollywood influence, and even it has some inspired choices.

I became a fan of his during the Blade 2 commentary when, at the super-stupid CGI fight scene, he just yells "HERE IT IS, THE WORST fuckIN PART OF THE MOVIE!"

Argh! I wish I had $$$ for this sale!! Hoping to have some in case Barnes & Noble does indeed come thru with their sale this year.

I know I'm mostly yelling into an abyss here, but for anyone who ordered Dressed to Kill during this, check your copies: I got a first printing, somehow, so now I have to email them to get a fixed disc. For those who don't know, the first printing of the movie had a really messed up aspect ratio, which was later corrected.

So yaaaay.

That's surprising since it's coming from their own stock...maybe at a retail store that could happen. Odd.

I didn't have much to spend right now, and the B&N sales are still a cheaper way to stock up on Criterions, but I snagged the $10 credit a couple weeks ago which made this a viable deal. Got A Room With a View and a replacement Bottle Rocket case for my old digipak Blu.
