He said, 2-3 days after the discussion ended.
There wasn't really any discussion though just a bunch of whiners complaining that games were being released that they weren't interested in.

Finished it today (about 6 hrs total), and just traded it back for $35.20. Made 81 cents lol. Great game, but I wouldn't play through again for different story branches - too many cutscenes that can't be skipped.
looks like we both got a short enjoyable free experience in behalf of bby expense. guess you were right, tiv held.

Glad it worked out for you - I figured it would hold at least through Saturday. I've traded a lot of games at best buy, and I've never seen tiv lowered mid-week.

Some stores will not let you price adjust the 49.99 down w/ GC because it is not a "valid price match". They will prioce match the 49.99, but not with the extra $8 off for GCU. If any CS reps give you hassle, just tell them to return it (as unopened) and resell it on the same transaction. This will automatically bring the game down to the right GCU price after you add your BBY membership to the transaction, and will return the difference to the card you originally bought the game with.
Just a tip for anyone whose BB store might give them hassle!

yea but it specifically states in the price match policy that it is to be adjusted off the GCU price. Instead of doing what you said I'd direct them to the policy, make them read it and make them feel like jackasses!!
But more so that they know the right way of doing things and will help others out the proper way in the future.

^ What he said, funny enough the example is exactly the prices that apply in this case:
My Best Buy Gamers Club Unlocked members can save 20% on new video games. For purposes of the Best Buy Price Match Guarantee, Best Buy takes the discounted My Best Buy Gamers Club Unlocked price into account prior to a price match request. For example, if Best Buy sells a new game for $59.99, a My Best Buy Gamers Club Unlocked member will be able to buy it for $47.99. The $47.99 price is the price we would compare for price match purposes. If a competitor sells the game for $49.99, there would not be a need for a price match as the Best Buy price is lower. If a competitor sells a game for $44.99, we would match that price and sell a My Best Buy Gamers Club Unlocked member the game for $44.99 with no additional discount. If Best Buy lowers our price during the return and exchange period on a My Best Buy Gamers Club Unlocked purchase, we will, upon request, apply the 20% discount on the new lower price. For example, If a Gamers Club Unlocked member paid $47.99 for a new game priced at $59.99 and Best Buy lowers the price to $49.99 during the return and exchange period, we will, upon request, price match the new price with the 20% discount and sell the My Best Buy Gamers Club Unlocked member the game for $39.99.

yup there it is, it didn't always mention gcu so if someone says thats not how's it's done they could just thinking of the old policy that didn't mention gcu at all or just a jackass in general, prob just a jackass.
If they still give you shit I'd take names and talk to corporate and tell them how your store isn't following policy but if you direct them to that I don't see them not doing it.

I just finish Until Dawn last night. Debating should I trade it in today or next week or just sell it local for $35. It tanked 2 buck but still it is only a 2 dollar rental for a fun experience

so is anyone else's best buys no longer opening the registers in front? everything is done in the customer service line now, best buy saves money, customers lose.
Front registers were being used yesterday for me. I was talking to the cashier and he did mention that they are upgrading all the register hardware upfront so maybe they were starting the process when you were there? Not sure if it's a company wide thing but I would assume so.

well, this is about the 3rd time in a row that they have had the registers closed. last time i was there i was trading in mad max so that was about a month ago. maybe they just know when i am coming and try to find the best way to bug me. it wasnt bad for me as there was just 1 in front of me but by the time i left there was about 8 in line.

What are we defining as "a bunch" now? I can only think of two I'd want--The Show, and maybe Bloodborne. Well, and the upcoming Kingdom Hearts, but I have no interest in all of that indie stuff and the sequels to franchises I never played.
Just because you're not interested in them doesn't mean they aren't good

In my experience it depends on the time of the day you go to the store. During non-peak hours (mornings during the week, late at night) they make you use the customer service desk to check out but when it's busier (afternoon, early evening) they have registers open. Again, that's just been my experience with them recently.
