CAGiversary!

Shojsauce has yet again generously started a contest giveaway, this time hinging on the Chicago Cubs' performance during the MLB postseason. His OG post can be found below.
https://www.cheapassgamer.com/topic/349677-the-better-the-cubs-do-the-more-ill-give-away/

With his blessing, I'll also be doing a giveaway during the MLB Playoffs but for the Kansas City Royals' postseason performance (I love the Cubs as my #2 but Royals are my #1). The following are the guidelines and it's a little different than his. However, as a Kansas City, MO native & like Shojsauce, I too despise the Cardinals (and sometimes their fans). Don't post anything Pro Cardinals here. If you do, you will not win anything I guarantee.

After every Royals' postseason, single game victory, I'll give away a $5 Xbox code the next day to a random CAG who has entered. Just like Shojsauce's giveaway, to enter all you need to do is like this topic or comment in the thread. No offense to the CAG noobs, but I'm doing this for the CAGs that have given me so much over the years I've been a member of this site (thanks a lot for the backlog you A-holes 😆). If your account is younger than when the 2015 MLB season started (4/5/15), you're not eligible. Also, you only get one $5 code per postseason series to allow others a chance to win.

When the Royals win a series (ALDS, ALCS, or World Series) I'll giveaway a bigger, better prize like Shojsauce. You're eligible for this even if you already won a $5 code from one of the earlier game victories. I haven't decided what that bigger, better prize will be so any suggestions (I'm not rich so within reason please) would be appreciated. This doesn't have to be Xbox or Microsoft related only, so any video game related suggestions will be valid.

After the Royals win the ALDS and advance to the ALCS, I'll do the bigger, better prize giveaway. Then I'll start the contest over for the next postseason series. Same thing for the ALCS to the World Series. You can win a daily, Royals' single game victory $5 Xbox code again in the next series even if you won before. Everyone is eligible for the ALDS, ALCS, & World Series large prize giveaway if you've entered. Basically, the giveaway completely resets once the next MLB postseason series starts. Sorry about all the rules but I thought I should explain how I'm running the giveaway. Good luck to everybody and if you have any questions I'll try to answer them!!! Go CUBS & Go ROYALS!!! Thanks Shojsauce.

Heartbreaking for the Royals last year. Hopefully they do not run into another "pitcher" juggernaut performance (like M. Bumgarner last year). It's crazy how much pitching matters in the post season (especially closeout games)

I honestly think it was more of a psychological juggernaut that defeated the Royals than the pitching. Buttgardener is a good pitcher, don't get me wrong, but I think hearing the constant barrage (Joe Buck et al) of how awesome he is hurt the Royals psyche to the point they convinced themselves as a whole team that Butthardener was going to beat them. In a way, the team heard what everybody was saying about him and what he would do to the Royals. The Royals then became convinced of his godlike powers and it became a "self-fulfilling prophecy" so to speak.

Oh well, better luck next year...and here we are!!!

I hope it's okay, but I will just copy my post from Shojsauce's topic, because it applies to both.

I actually live a couple hours from St. Louis and I can't stand how obsessed people are with the Cards. I prefer the Chiefs and Royals as far as MO sports teams go. I don't even care how good/bad they do. I support my teams.

Thanks for doing this. Redsox fan here. The Redsox have denied the Cardinals 2 titles in recent years. A Royals vs Cubs World Series would be fun to watch.

Will be some barnburners before all is said and done. I wont be surprised to see Kansas City lay some smackdowns.

Another good pal that loves baseball! Well I will root for your team because they are playing against the Astros, Texas Rangers fan here, plus you know, Paul Rudd is a KC fan so if Rangers go out I will cheer for either Cubs (because my sister) or Royals

I think the Royals have a good chance this year. Almost feel as if the winner of them vs Blue Jays will be the winner of the World Series. Time will tell.

"Best fans in baseball" lol

Anyways good luck to your Royals, they should've won last year imo. I like the underdog teams like the Royals and the Astros so hopefully one of them can win the title this year.
You sir, are a gentleman and a scholar for providing this picture to use against the Cards fans in my life. I promise to only use this picture for good i.e. knocking down arrogant cards fan a couple rungs.

Good luck to your Royals this year. What's wrong with Cueto though? He hasn't looked the same since the Reds traded him. Is he still injured?

Nope, he hasn't missed a game since coming over here as far as I know. They claim his poor performance was due to our catcher (Perez) being bigger and the position he squats in. Cueto had 2 or 3 knockout games and since then he's been pretty lackluster.

Looks like I owe someone $5 Xbox again. 😀

Helluva a game today.

Royals are scraping through!!  They have a better team then last year and there isn't anybody in this post season i don't think they have an edge against.

Will be fun to see the Royal play the Jays.  Sweet sweet in your face domination :p

I really want to see Cubs/Rangers WS, but I'm starting to think the Rangers might not even escape being 2-0... now that the series is 2-2 -_-
