PAX South 2016

I managed to snag two passes. At the moment I am planning on going. Probably be setting up my travel plans in the next week or two. I missed out on Prime this year, so South is going to be my PAX fix. Might start going to it regularly if it turns out well. The South location is a little more convenient for me.

 
I'm there. Last week I ordered my plane tickets and reserved a room within walking distance of the convention centery. Really looking forward to it. I'll definitely go to the CAG panel.

 
I've been so busy with other things that I haven't really prepped yet. I'll have to do some packing over the weekend, and start perusing the schedule.

 
I'll be there. I just noticed yesterday that cag had a panel. Definitely going to that one. Anyone doing any tournaments? I did the goldeneye and Mario Kart 64 ones last year and it was a blast. I got real excited when I saw that there was a rocket league tournament...then noticed it was pc. Ugh.

I was thinking about playing in the Towerfall tournament but I think it takes place during the twitch panel which usually has a rare pin. Probably shouldn't miss that. There's nothing specific about a pin for this panel, but it does mention that swag will be given away which could be good.

The PAX Panel is at 9:30 PM on Friday. I'll be tired, but I'm going anyway. Should be fun. I'll even grab a few of the raffle tickets they're going to have. They've got me with the classic Kenner Jabba-the-Hutt playset. I had a rich friend who had that set when I was a kid, and I always wanted one of my own.

Gonna be packing and prepping tonight. Really looking forward to it.

 
Well, to be fair, the weather yesterday was really, really nice. Anyplace looks better when the weather is this nice. I took a stroll down the river walk last evening looking for dinner, and it was quite charming. I also got to eat fried catfish. It's a lot harder to get proper fish in AZ.

The panel last night went quite well. Big thank-you to Thorbaun for hosting. A good portion of it was a bit remedial for an experienced shopper like me. But even I heard a few tricks that I had not considered. I didn't get any of the raffle items, but a fellow a few seats down from me ended up taking the Jabba the Hutt set home.

 
Sunday afternoon I got a chicken-fried-steak sandwich. Delicious. And I got to eat it while sitting on a second level overlooking the river walk. Just the right amount of shade. Very pleasant.
