Will Xbox 360 Chat Headset work on XBONE?

I'm trying to figure out if my Xbox 360 Plantronics chat headset will work with the Xbox One.  This one: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000F1WDHW?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_search_detailpage

-This Plantronics headset has the small 2.5mm jack, but in a simple right angle plug.  Not the crazy hocky puck plug the official 360 chat headset came with.

-I'm connecting it to the new XBONE controller with the 3.5mm input.

All I need is a 2.5mm to 3.5mm converter, right?  Are these all the same?  Or do I have to buy a "special kind" of one?

I don't have to buy that Headset Adapter, do I?

BTW, I was going to just buy the official XBONE headset, but I hear that thing breaks if you look at it the wrong way.

you need the adapter. it comes with the converter. I use my turtle beach set I got at target last year for $10 on both my 360 and one. I know this is an old thread, figured I would respond in case anyone finds this looking for the answer
