Jumping back a generation or two and having a blast!

So lately, I've been kinda bored with gaming. Not sure why. Haven't been able to really get into it lately. Maybe it's my massive backlog of games that seems intimidating. Maybe something else. I dunno. Then recently, I decided to check out some old school titles on the Wii and Gamecube I had missed. I'm having a blast! I forgot how much fun gaming can be. Been playing a lot of Super Mario Sunshine and Kirby's Epic Yarn. Maybe I just needed a break from all the violence. Not really sure. Have any of you had similar experience where older gen gaming restored your excitement in the medium?

I'm still in the PS3/Wii U generation

I'm sort of in the same place as you, but backwards. I had a Wii U but recently got a PS3, and I've been playing some shooters that I missed. I needed to take a break from colorful and happy games. lol
