Am I the only one playing this thing? So far so good, kinda has a Pokemon type feel, except y'know, no real direct control over combat. The only thing driving me crazy is the way you befriend the yo-kai, kinda random/controlled, all I want is a damn Hungramps and I've been trying for hours with no luck. Anyone else have opinions on this game?

Some tips for befriending Yokai is give them the food that they like in the case of Hungramps it's Riceballs, also the better quality of the food helps. If there are multiple Yokai of say Hungramps throw a Riceball at all of them to increase the odds of befriending (you can only get one Yokai per battle, but it increases the odds of befriending one) also target them and the Wisp, and you might get a capture/friendship bonus. Last tip is get a Yokai with the ability Popularize, there's a Yokai named Cupistol in the Downtown Springdale area feed him some bread, and keep him in the party when you are befriending Yokai.

I like the game some people say it's short, but with all the sidquests and Yokai to catch it's gonna be longer than if you just straight up did the story. I hope the game did well enough, and Yokai Watch 2 gets announced next year since I heard it's vastly improved compared to the original.

I wasn't feeling the demo. The battle system is either way too simple or complicated for me. It does beat pressing A alot.

Gotta get used to the bug catching.
