Who's playing it? What do you think? Does anyone even hang out in the general gaming threads anymore?
There are plenty of good things to JC 3 that I could talk about, but as a hardcore JC 2 fan, I'd rather dish about the disappointing elements first.
My biggest problem (outside of some bugs and crazy load times) is the physics... everything from the cars, to your parachute are way more stiff and sluggish than they were in JC 2. On the other end of that spectrum, you'll have objects that react in such extreme ways to the slightest interaction: cars will flip wildly into the air when they hit small rocks, and only a couple of shots with your gun will send enemy cars into wild crashes (why did shooting the passenger just send that cop car into a front flip?) The old "last minute parachute" rag dolling trick from JC 2 is gone, as are alot of the smaller things I enjoyed from that game (the button prompts for jacking, the whip melee). Also, I know this entire franchise plays fast-and-loose with the story, but it's kinda weird that Rico Rodriguez is now a Mediterranean chap.
Don't get me wrong, I'll be playing the crap out of this game over the next year, but my first impressions aren't as strong as I thought they would be.
