I tried, but instead of $5 promotional credit towards my account, it gave me $1 towards Amazon MP3. I dunno if that's in addition to the $5 or not, but the $1 Amazon MP3 credit was all that was stated in my email.

 
This deal seems to have become hit or miss. I've seen some people say contacting CS will fix it. I don't know if I'll bother after all the runaround. Still thank you OP for the heads up.
