How to redeem 360 Gears of War game with remastered edition?

Does anyone know how this is supposed to work. Game sites say just play GOW online once before the end of the year.

Did that and nothing. Do you have to go download them individually ( when I try they show the reg price) , do they just show up in my que? If you've done this please let me know.

The requirements to trigger the event are a little vague, but if you are online and play Gow:UE for at least 30 minutes it should work. Once Xbox Live sees that, you will be added to the queue to receive codes for the four games. If you receive them, you will get codes for Gow/GoW2 in one message and GoW3/GoWJ in a second message.

 
I came on here to post this very same question. So do we have to play multiplayer or can we play single player as long as we are logged into Xbox Live? I'm not big on multiplayer with random people I prefer playing solo.
 
I think you have to play 1 multiplayer match. I recently received my codes just 2 weeks after first playing the Ultimate Edition; 2 separate Xbox Live messages with 2 codes each.
 
Gotcha, I went ahead and played a team deathmatch game and got the achievement for finishing my first multiplayer match, hopefully that's enough for the system to recognize I've played the game. Thanks for your response!

Well, shit, guess I know what I'm doing in the next few days. I though it was just playing the game at all, though it has to be a MP game?

 
The official announcement only said to play on Xbox Live, so that was never really clarified. But my codes came relatively quickly after playing PvP, while I have at least 1 friend who has only played campaign (first time being 2 months ago) and still has not received codes.

Guess I'll do an MP match today, though in theory, I really don't need to worry about it since I have Gears 1, 3 and Judgement digitally (plus on-disc for 1 & 3) from past Games With Gold and own Gears 2 on disc.

Same here, though I own a physical copy of Judgement too. I'm really only wanting GoW 2 to complete my "digital" collection. Plus it's my favorite out of the four. It'd be nice to play all of them without having to go find the disc.

I wonder how much MP we actually have to play in order to get the codes. I got one match in, I'm wondering if I should play some more. I'm just so bad at MP it's embarrassing. >.<

I played until I had the achievement pop, which was back on the 31st, though that was only a single MP match. We'll have to see if I get my codes or not.
