Wii U holiday shopping help

scol

CAGiversary!
Hello,

So I've been on the fence to pick up the Wii U for the family (and me for Xenoblade as well as the SMT FE crossover). I tried nabbing the Splatoon/Smash bundle at Target, but that went down in flames with a cancellation. However, they DID give me a $50GC.

They had a recent influx of the bundle, but only in-store.. and everywhere I checked has been out.

I've been debating just biting the bullet and getting the Mario Kart bundle at Target before the week's promotion is over (250 -50GC). I've also been debating getting a NOA refurb (200+ship) and just spending the 50GC on a game or accessory instead, as well as taking advantage of the BB B1G1 40% Nintendo deal (with GCU) this week.

What do you think would be the best approach? I don't know if there'll be any Splat/Smash restocks (let alone at that sale price) by next week...

Thanks in advance

I believe that I've seen smash, Mariokart 8, and splatoon go as low as $40 each before gcu at best buy so you shouldn't feel to bad about missing the Black Friday bundle. I've also heard that the refurb consoles direct from nintendo are basically in like new condition. Are you particulary interested in mario kart? If yes, go ahead and spring for that bundle with your giftcard. If you feel like you can wait for a better sale on the games or you just want to do the buy 1 get 1 40% off at best buy the nintendo refurb is a solid deal. Personally I would just get the Mariokart bundle because if you order the nintendo refurb, the box comes with a huge red stripe across the box saying refurbished. If you are making this a gift for the holidays, that kinda kills the magic of it.

Yeah, that is true (regarding the refurb gifting issue). Hmm, I guess the MK bundle it is. Thanks for the feedback

I would personally get a bundle from target and use the $50gc to chop down on the price and the biggest factor for me would be its a BRAND NEW console.
