$10 VUDU Credit on $5 Blu-rays

Was in Walmart today and they had a bunch of $5 Blu-rays that had a bonus $10 VUDU Credit.

I don't remember all the titles, but the ones I remember were on the stand included:

Rambo (new one)
Last Stand
Drive Angry
Conan the Barbarian (Remake)
Dredd
Empire State
Astro Boy

There were another dozen or so titles there as well.

I had a WalMart Instawatch question.

If you buy the cheapo, 4 DVD pack (Like the Batman movies), do they give you the UV movie in HDX?

Originally it was 5. But then it must of reset because according to a post on SD, and I can confirm this, it allowed me to add 10 more for a total of 15 which equals $150 in VUDU credit.

The prefix of the VUDU codes is "VNYP".

So for about $75 ($5 x 15) I got 15 "okay" movies added to my VUDU account and $150 in credit.

Now I'm going to try and sell the movies as "new-other" since they are still shrinkwrap minues a small cut I made with a utility knife to remove the sticker and hopefully make back a portion of that $75.

The only thing I haven't figured out is when or if the credit expires. The fine print on the code says it must be redeemed, as in the offer, by 4/30 but I think that means the code on the packaging must be redeemed, not the credit.

According to the spreadsheet there, the codes expire 4/12/16.

Usually promo credits expire 1 year from date of entry unless otherwise specified.

Worked out nice for me as all the movies are instawatch and immediately added to my vudu account, making the discs expendable, those were all eligible towards Moviestop's trade 3 get 1 new release promo, I picked up a few new releases in addition to UV copies and a bit of credit which I used towards converting a ton of dvd and blus to digital

 
Do you mean straight to UV without needing VUDU? Of course not, Walmart owns VUDU.

Though considering UV and VUDU are linked and you need a Walmart account to use Instawatch I don't see the problem.

I mean obviously Vudu is used but is it a Vudu only copy or is it an Ultraviolet copy? I ask as I have to use Flixster on some devices so if it is Vudu only it isn't as useful.

Plus I share my UV library with like 3 other people so I like to, when possible, make sure the movies I add are available to everyone.

 
I don't know about Flixter. I think it can only be viewed via VUDU and UV's website. I know I can't access it with CinemaNow.

If you can access movies you get via InstaWatch on another service then that should mean they are UltraViolet. Thanks. Sorry for any confusion by the way, just because a movie is owned on Vudu doesn't mean that it is a UV copy (I have about 5-10 movies that are only visible on Vudu) so I've been wondering about that.

 
Is there a full list of want movies has the 10$ Vudu credit on them

 
I found one yesterday (FREELANCERS with Robert DeNiro, 50cent, Forest Whitaker) in the discount blu ray bin.

pretty much every movie I buy at Walmart with instawatch I watch the instawatch copies on my fire stick via flixster no problem

The problem with blu-ray deals at Walmart is that individual Walmart managers seem to be totally at their discretion on whether or not to sell many blu-rays (I've also been told this is true but not by an official source). Unlike Target or Best Buy where blu-ray stock seems largely just based on available space, Walmart managers decide if they want that blu-ray bargain bin or these types of stands. Only like two Walmarts in my area even have the blu-ray bargain bin. One store seriously only ever has blu-ray copies of the movies that came out like that week, the rest is just DVD.

In short, everything blu-ray is YMMV at Walmart because each Walmart decides independently whether or not to sell them.
