Well I feel a little stupid right now, my Bravely Second CE showed up today. It was excellently packaged with air pillows and an appropriate sized box, good job Best Buy. Quite a bit bigger than the first one too.

90 = 13% for ebay fees/paypal - $8 shipping = 70.30                most likely bought it for 69+tax+shipping = ~ 79

The seller is losing $10. WHY would you ebay this crap for that amount.

Why would shipping be $8? It's a videogame. It should cost at most ~$5 ($2.5 priority and roughly $3 for signature confirmation). And they could have gotten it from Amazon (Prime) / BestBuy (GCU) for $60. Could have stacked coupons or credit too.

I wouldn't waste time selling this but they are probably making more than you think.

My Bravely Second CE shipped today too. Should be delivered tomorrow! Can't wait to have it though I need to finish Bravely Default before I play it.

Normally I don't worry about Amazon shipping. This time I'm kinda worried since my Bravely Second CE says,

Not yet shipped

Delivery estimate: We need a little more time to provide you with a good estimate. We'll notify you via e-mail as soon as we have an estimated delivery date."

Hopefully this ships and isn't stuck in some weird purgatory.

I'm glad they are re-releasing these Gwent decks, I hate exclusivity shit, especially when players on both consoles are paying the same price for the Collectors Edition.

Ya'll who were waiting to resale dun goofed.

No, cause this is more like the ones who resold won.

$2.50 to ship a CE via priority?  Not arguing with your other comments, but that made my chuckle.  I've shipped a wide range of stuff via priority over the years (Transformers, which have a wide range of weights and sizes) and at a minimum things are around $6 for a priority low weight box without signature confirmation.

I ship alot of eBay items via USPS. $8 is actually reasonable, probably more if its west coast to east coast and vice versa.  and trust me, for $5, you will not get signature confirmation.

edit: i think there was a post earlier where if trump runs the show, push usps to provide dirt cheap shipping to americans rather than chinese, than we might actually have something good going for USAA

It weighs 3 pounds and really shouldn't be over $2.5. But that is with my Amazon and eBay shipping discounts. Might be higher for others.

All my games I ship for less than $3 unless it's expensive / weighs 5+ pounds than it may be $10+ to ship w/ confirmation.

And in turn drop the wage of postal workers (drivers, processing, store employees, etc.) to provide that dirt cheap shipping. They'd probably raise the price of other non-essential postal features such as higher shipping confirmation cost, paying extra for a tracking number, etc.

And if stop giving China shipping discounts that also hurts American companies here that rely on Chinese shipped / made goods for their businesses (majority of companies here do).

I'm sorry, but that is simply not correct.  The Ebay discount on USPS shipping is only 25% for the most active sellers.  The cheapest priority mail shipping on a 3 pound package is around $5 with the discount and that assumes it's within a state or two so it's the same shipping zone.  Unless you are shipping in a padded envelope and with slower service, there is no way you're shipping 3 pounds for $2.50 anywhere.

You must have a privileged seller account or something. I ship a lot too and minimum for priority mail is at least $5 like the other guy said, and that's for 1lb. For 3lbs it can get as high as $8 if shipped cross country.

What discounts? Cause you'd need like a 70% discount or more to ship a 3 lb package for $2.50.

there are alot of ignorant people that do not calculate ebay and paypal fee into there cost. they assume they sale price minus cost equal profits.

I always take my acceptable "buy it now" price x 0.865 - shipping cost before listing anything on ebay.

I've been selling for about 5 years on eBay and Amazon. Last time I check my shipping discount was roughly 40% from USPS. I ship all my games with bubble mailers on both sites. Always choose priority or first class mail since those are usually the cheapest (yet still fast) shipping options.

Also haven't sold on eBay for a while since I decided to stay on Amazon. Prices must have raised a lot since I left.

But I stand corrected, for casual sellers it is higher. My bad.

You assume I sell CE's...

But no. The few times I sell CE's it obviously is not in bubble mailers.

regardless of the math people selling it for $90 are breaking even or making like $5 at best... so what's the point?

Being dicks I suppose... :-

Didn't mean to start some big discussion. When I was selling on eBay I didn't pay more than $2.5 for most games to ship. For heavier / bigger items it was over $10 for me (depending on location and weight). This was probably 3 years ago and my discount for shipping was 40% the last I checked.

Just looked up the current rates and yeah, they are most certainly higher for standard sellers. I now sell everything Amazon FBA so my shipments are $5 - $15 (I usually ship 10 - 50 pounds). For anyone that sells FBA, you will know that Amazon gets a shipping discount from UPS that is much lower than shipping items yourself.

Anyways, hope everyone gets their games and doesn't need to spend extra for it.

Every time Best buy, target, amazon ship me a movie, game in a bubble mailer I fuckin scream.

a. its crushed because no real padding

b. the disc came loose from no real padding.

You specifically said $2.50 to ship 3 pounds priority. That hasn't been the case for at least a decade.

$2.50 to ship a 7 oz game first class, sure. $10 to ship a 10 lb item, sure.

But no, it was never $2.50 to ship 3 pounds priority, ebay or Amazon.

Edit: $4 for 3 lbs in 1995 to the cheapest zones. By 2006, $5. Yes, I looked.

I think it depends on where it is shipping from (the trail that is). Only ever have problems with Gamestop.com orders. Think because they ship items from stores that have been sitting around for years.

Have had a few orders from BestBuy where the disc came loose. My Ratchet & Clank came in today from BB and the disc was loose. Glad it wasn't damaged though.

Wish I could post a screenshot of my Amazon shipping page but I haven't done merchant fulfilled in months. Priority Mail and First Class most of the time for my games that I shipped where very close in price.

Yeah, you aren't paying $2.50 to ship anything priority.  Everyone gets the same discount on Ebay/Amazon so its not like your 40% is something special.  The only way you get a large discount is if you ship tens of thousands of dollars or more through fedex or ups.  If you use Amazon FBA then you get the lowest rate possible because you get the Amazon shipping discount.  It wouldn't have been a big discussion if you just gave the right info

Though this pic (below) is from someone else from a few years ago, this was similar to the rates I'd normally get except mine was $2.5 most of the time for Priority and First Class. Mine you, I have been selling for years and have sold thousands of products. Mostly smaller cheap items though ($15 - $60). I now do FBA, didn't before and had to ship the rates Amazon / eBay provided (with those discounts added for top sellers).

Everyone does not get the same discount. Majority of people get standard rates while others are offered better rates the more items they sell (also based on metrics).

Can you please stop. My family had a platinum powerseller TRS eBay account ($300,000+ in yearly sales) when they ran an auto parts store. NEVER was it $2.50 to ship a Priority Mail package (regardless of weight) even if it was one house down from the local post office.

You have to purchase a minimum of $100,000  worth of POSTAGE domestically to get negotiated rates with USPS above/beyond what eBay offers. If you're a TRS you get a commercial plus discount but at no time in the last five years has that ever been less then $4.50 within neighboring zones for a package less then a pound.

If you sold as often as you claim, you wouldn't mention signature confirmation on a $70 item as that provides no protection and is just a waste of your money and an inconvenience for MOST buyers. Furthermore if you sold as much as you claimed you would have realized that rates increased 10-20% for priority mail domestically back in January.

I don't know what AZ charges for FBA or what they give you for s/h credits for using their service but they're not allowing you to ship 3lb packages by USPS PM for $2.50. Just an FYI but that's roughly what it costs to ship a 4oz first class package using the commercial plus discount on eBay as of of today

Edit: Do you see how silly this sounds:

Though this pic (below) is from someone else from a few years ago, this was similar to the rates I'd normally get except mine was $2.5 most of the time for Priority and First Class

So your rates were similar, except they weren't, they were more then 50% less (assuming I'm seeing "5's" in that screenshot and not "3's")

And just an FYI, the rates from that screenshot aren't even good, if I'd guess they're commercial basic (regular online retail rates) which is a step down from the commercial plus offered to TRS.

And to take this off topic more, China doesn't get reduced rates, they get rates subsidized to the point where USPS loses money. It's been awhile since I've read up on it but through the bulk ePacket program that USPS was forced to negotiated with China, Chinese sellers ship their goods based on gross weight of ALL the packages. Envelopes can be sent from China to the U.S., with delivery  confirmation, for less then $.40 a package if it's light weight since they pay a few dollars per Kg of the total weight of everything being mailed. That's how they can sell HDMI cables for $.99 with free shipping.

That's a slap in the face to people in the United States that would have to spend a minimum of $30 on Priority Mail International to get the same type of service (i.e. shipping with delivery confirmation) from the U.S. back to China.

And the business owners in the U.S. who rely on Chinese made goods typically aren't receiving them via ePacket through the USPS; they would be coming freight across the ocean so it would only effect those that buy garbage on alibaba or eBay (like knockoff phone cases and chargers) and repackage/resell them.

LOL yes first class was $1.69 for like 6 oz in 2013.  I also got those same rates as does everyone else who used amazon.  You don't get a discount on USPS rates through amazon or ebay.
