Duck Hunt for Wii U came out a year or so ago. You use the wiimote to aim and shoot. They spent the money.

Also why can't Shipwreck just buy some USB LED lights and plug them into the console? When you turn it on, they would come on right? That would solve a lot of consoles, but not all right?

I have a theory, as to why the Toys-to-Life genre of games didn't show up on the NPD's best-sellers list. If I'm not mistaken, the NPDs organize that list based on individual packages, not generalized games. That's why individual platform titles show up the way they do. All of the toys-to-life games were sold with multiple different bundles on every platform under the sun. Moreover, each toys-to-life entry is broken down by package into its individual figures. So an individually purchased toys-to-life game could show up as just one entry on the NPD list, but could actually have cost the consumer far more when adding all the separate figures they bought for it. And to top it off, individual figurines can't be grouped by platform release, as they are platform-agnostic.

Put simply, I dont' think the NPDs' current reporting is giving a full impression of how much each different version of these rather complicated retail games sell. If they were able to accurately combine all of those figures, I would imagine we'd see a different picture.

The top 10 NPD game sales don't include copies sold in bundles like the Star Wars PS4 bundle or the Fallout 4 Xbone bundle.

Wow, shame on a game for making me think and feel. People do whine about everything. I can't muster up the courage to play "That Dragon, Cancer" considering I was a puddle of water after watching Graveyard of the Fireflies.

Definitely not impressed with the NPD game sales, considering they're basically the same types of titles. Whoever says mobile will kill video games is on to something, but it's more like the wind chipping away at a mountain to make way for sand, so that will take a long damn time.

Wow, Shipwreck, I can't believe you forgot about the lightgun games on the Wii! Though it must be cumbersome for Bayou Billy.

I still think Best Buy must be paying us to take video games home with GCU. Maybe the $30/year will make up for it in the long run? The $10 gift cards and stacking sales make it way better than anything Amazon has still. It's a nice deal for those that refuse to get GCU though and already have Prime. If Microsoft gave $10 pre-order xbox points plus 20% off digital preorders I wouldn't buy anymore retail games. That would probably cause a problem for them in the long run though once Walmart, Target, Best Buy, Amazon and whomever else stop buying games, controllers and other accessories like Kmart did.

I thought Mad Max the game was better then the movie.  Story interested me more.   Batman-like fighting with car battling(not like Batman).  Fun stuff.

I really like Best Buy GCU for what it is, 20% off new and double the points toward a coupon.

Of course if you have the $100(?) for a Prime membership, the overall benefits are SOOO much better if you're a regular Amazon shopper. I'm not, so I have to bum from a friend's account whenever I'm over at his house.

Gamestop really has to up their game especially if PowerUp Rewards will increase in price one day.

Why isn't The Martian worthy of being Best Picture? It's a good, entertaining story that conveys factually accurate scientific ideas to a mass market audience. With an amazing performance by Matt Damon. And unlike most Oscar nominated pictures you feel good at the end. A little of that Star Trek-type science optimism is a relief these days.

Heyyy, fourth time my comment has been read on the CAGcast. Woo. Second time it's been about Bethesda games, funnily enough. Sorry to harp on Fallout yet again but I haven't finished the podcast yet so can't really comment on anything else as of now. Shipwreck, this mainly boils down to semantics, but - you can't mark things as junk in FO4 because the category "junk" no longer means what it used to in these games. Junk actually has a purpose - it all breaks down into crafting/building materials. You can scrap guns and armor into materials as well, so marking things as junk would indeed be a way to eliminate a middleman - but you can't. They don't really intend for you to vendor anything, though. At least that's what it seems like.

EDIT: I've always thought black lightsabers were stupid. But then again I suppose I'm a boring, unfun Star Wars lore purist. Not sure what I would've thought of them when I was young.

Shipwreck forgot one new release this week, Zheroes. It was the free Game With Gold. Though, honestly, it's best forgotten.

I also just watched Mad Max: Fury Road, and while I think the movie is good and not great I would disagree it doesn't deserve an Oscar nomination.  It is not like those other moves that were nominated were that much better than 20 other movies that did not get nominated.  Most of the time there is nothing special about Oscar's best picture of the year.

Season 1 of Rick and Morty is on Hulu I would also recommend watching it.

Shipwreck,

SmartThings (smarthings.com but owned by Samsung) has some integration with the Harmony remote and is pretty full-featured to do many things.  The hub is $99 and it can manage any Z-Wave or Zigbee compatible controls like switches.  It can manage sensors and other devices as well as some support for Philips Hue.

As always, you have to figure out if it works for you.

Hey guys, wanted to write in. I don't usually comment, but after the short discussion about "why you do continue to do the show," I wanted to just say that I look forward to the CAGcast every week, and I really appreciate you guys continuing to do so each week.

So, Thank you, and please continue CAGcasting.

Cheapy and Wombat wouldn't let Ship say 2 sentences about Hardware Rivals. I just wanted to hear if it was going to be worth my time to DL it or not, but all I got was a bunch of lame "who can remember the most characters about Hardware Wars" routine.

As a Star Wars action figure collector who is savvy to what Hasbro is up to, I would like to explain to Shipwreck (and whoever else is interested) what is going on with the new figures and why it has collectors upset. Feel free to paraphrase if you mention this next week.

The scale that most people collect is 3.75 inch. Collectors love this scale the most. There are two types of 3.75 inch: high articulation and 5 points of articulation.

5 points of artiulaiton are like the classic Kenner ones. In other words, very outdated feeling in 2015. These are the ones that you see on the shelves mostly. People buy these if they have small kids and they don't know the difference. They are cheapest to produce en masse and probably have a high profit margin.

To try to sell a new scale of figures at a higher price point to an adult audience, they are now making 6 inch figures (the ones shipwreck buys). Since this is something hasbro is pushing, they producing many of these and they are relatively easy to find for a star wars figure.

The 3.75 high articulation figures are the tough ones that everyone is after. This is the scale and quality that collectors want, but they are produced in the least quantity of all and only sold at Walmart. A collector such as myself  came to "Force Friday" with $150 dollars ready to throw at this line of figures, but they did not even hit stores till December.

Like Amiibos, it seems that Hasbro is aware of our agony and seeks to make it worse. They are successfully selling the 6 inch and the low quality figures  to collectors  because it is the only option that we are being given. This, of coarse makes the desirable 3.75 ones very collectible.

Hope this was interesting enough...

And if you see a 3.75 high articulation Rey, you should probably sell it :)

That wouldn't work for any pre-GCN/PS2/Xbox generation though and he has a lot of those.

How about something like this Ship? I did a quick search, but only found a 4 channel box, but they probably make them with more outputs.

Oh and there was a black lightsaber on the Clone Wars

I had a small discussion on Twitter with Shipwreck about the GCU vs. Amazon and finally decided to pull the trigger on GCU. However, for some unknown reason, you can sign up online but you have to activate your membership in-store, which is a bummer since I don't have a Best Buy near me.

Hey Wombat, Shipwreck & Cheapy D- I just wanted to tell you guys great job on all the recent podcast & on the site in general. And much props to all you guys who contribute to the site & keep it running smooth. It's much appreciated. I'm some what new to the CAG community but have very much enjoyed my time here. Between the multiple deals you guys have lead me to, reading & writing comments on various threads that interest me & the great podcast you guys do- this has been one of my favorite most visited sites in recent memory. I can tell you I'm no stranger to being hacked myself, I guess it's just an unavoidable part of life this day & age. But don't get discouraged as the good days will out weigh the bad. Again, thank you. This is a great site with a really great online community.
