Gamestop is selling Tom Clancy's The Division Season Pass for $29.99 I believe this is an error and it is supposed to be $39.99.

Gamestop online did charge me tax just a heads-up.

Wrong game

Still seems high to me, considering we aren't sure what the season pass includes at this point.  The only thing I can find is "major expansions for a year".  If there is anything more concrete I can't seem to find it.

Don't understand the logic of buying a season pass .... before the content is made or in this case, decided what it is going to be.

Yeah, better buy this season pass now! It's a good decision, considering nobody knows what it contains and the game itself likely won't come out until October or later this year!

I'm going to wait until target sells the gold edition for 59.99 like they did for both Assassin's Creed and Rainbow six Gold Edition

Thanks OP. Good for those who aren't getting the Gold Edition. $59.99 + $39.99 season pass would make it $99.99, so it technically is a deal xD

So this is a deal then? Normally price supposed to be $39.99? Got in on the $15 extra back from gcu for standard edition at BB and deciding if this is the best route to take to get the season pass (I can always wait to redeem and then resell it(but probably wont)). Thoughts?

Barring any further sales or discounts, or waiting for the eventual price drop, or as mentioned Target selling the Gold edition for $59.99 like they did with two other Ubi Gold titles, this is your best deal.

I also got in on the $15 reward certificate Actually the only reason I preordered. If you figure the pretax cost at $32.99 with the cert and GCU, adding $29.99 puts this almost at the normal retail value of just the standard game.

Thanks your posts are always helpful. I will pull the trigger then before someone posts on SD and kills it.

Same i'm pretty meh on what i've seen so far so the beta will be the way to go to figure out if I want this on release or likely ever.

I figure I'd get it now and for whatever reason I don't like I should easily be able to make my money back reselling if need be.

God..please please please stop preordering games and buying season passes.

"Because we can" is the reason why games are now a NORM at 100-200 dollars if you want all the content instead of 60 bucks. Everyone keeps buying this crap so companies just throw it up there regardless of if it's any good or not.

Just a couple years ago a full top-tier game was 49.95-59.95 and MIGHT have one or two DLC's for 5-10 bucks and a couple usually that were free.

Now it's 5-10 dollars just for a couple cars in the game or just a skin or two for a weapon. But oh hey now! Look! Here comes a "season pass" to "save you money" for the price of the ENTIRE game that contains content that's only 10-15 percent of the effort and everyone snaps it up like it's cocaine just because it "has everything."

Stop.......I'm begging you. One game should not cost 1/2 to 3/4 of the cost of the game system......(assuming the system is 299.95 like they currently have been)

I know this is off-topic to the post really, but all the talk of season pass here just really set it off. (And yes, it's true THIS season pass is 30-40 bucks but so many of them are 60....)

Get off your high horse here... if you don't like it, move along then. Were not going back to the "good ol' days" anytime soon. Votes only count when you DO or don't use your wallet. You probably also don't games that are only multiplayer...

If your a true CAG, then this shouldn't bother you anyways because you'll end up buying the GOTY edition with all the content anyways for cheap.

Went ahead and bought it. Still not sold on the game despite preordering just prior to the alpha. I didn't get to play the alpha for more than a few minutes. We'll see.

Not a high horse. There were a comment or two in here wondering why people would even pre-buy a season's pass. I too don't understand the logic. We're "cheapassgamers" and per-purchasing content like that not only isn't a deal since you're paying full price (and before even knowing what the content is!) but it also perpetuates the massive price increases in games we've been seeing in just the last couple years. Small incremental price increases every couple of years are normal. Games costing two to three times as much as they did only a couple years ago is insane and pre-purchasing everything is a large (not only) cause of it.

Not certain what you meant to say about multiplayer and I'm uncertain how or why that has anything to do with topic, but I'll cover it. I play everything. From multiplayer only games like Battlefront, to MMO's like WoW, to single player only games, and any mix in between (like COD). Indie games, AAA titles, everything.

I do vote with my wallet actually. I usually pick up titles after their price drops, used, trades, craiglist, whatever and whereever a deal is available. Sure I'll buy a brand new game but usually when it's from a company that doesn't play this 150-200+dollar game and they just release a decent game at price. DLC is free or very cheap bang for buck and I never pre-purchase. They have to earn the dollars, but just get it because of the name on the case so they can release anything.

What does the gold edition get you that makes it worth $10 more than buying the standard plus season pass?

It gives a set of "National Guard Gear".

"Pre-order Tom Clancy’s The Division Gold Edition now to get a guaranteed beta access and a unique additional gear set at a lower price........Tom Clancy’s The Division Gold Edition includes: - The game - The Season Pass - An exclusive “National Guard” gear set"

I pulled this from the microsoft xbox store listing that was posted Dec 29th.

"Continue your Division Agent's story and progression across 3 major expansion packs. Gain access to one year of exclusive monthly content drops and special in-game events. Unlock Exclusive Day 1 Equipment including the National Guard Gear Set and the brutal Sawn-Off Shotgun."

Pulled that off of the page for just the season pass on gamestop's site. So maybe nothing then?

Talking about this topic minus well be about religion or politics; Your not going to convert people, so please stop spreading the word. It reminds me of the devout (insert their religion here) guy on the plane next to you trying to tell you about his church or w/e. It's annoying to put it simply.

Everything comes down to perceived value. I value playing with my friends in multiplayer games when the game comes out and playing as a unit through the game. To me, the content is worth it. Different strokes for different folks.

That's why this is likely a pricing mistake. Should be $39.99 according to other listings (like the Xbox store) and the Gold Edition being that much more expensive than the standard game.

Probably going to pick up the CE at best buy since it comes with the season pass. Just want to make sure the season pass is worth getting unlike the R6 one.

did you know that, despite the rate of inflation and increasing game development costs, the base price for games has not gone up in over a decade?

Also that there used to be games in the SNES/Genesis/N64 era that were 80 or 100 dollars?

but I do agree that anyone who buys this now is really stupid.
