steam link vs steam streaming

Has anyone been able to compare the quality between them? I tried to google but no one has really compared them and was just wondering if there is a difference.

Shouldn't be much of a difference. They both do the same thing, but one is its own converter box and the other uses your PC to convert and send the video. I'd say the difference is minimal or unnoticeable if you have a decent PC.

Thanks. I'm going to cobble an old comp together from parts and give it a shot. I originally wanted to build a gaming Plex media server but have a gaming rig already. I'm going to try and install Ubuntu on it with Plex and run the steam client to stream from my gaming comp. Hopefully everything works. Will it take control on the gaming comp making it unusable while streaming? or can it be used for browsing as long as steam is not used?
