Funny enough I really don't like the gold version of this amiibo. I have the blue one which I feel just looks better. Now if the gold one was in a different pose, that'd be different I think.

Ah well, saved me from forking over the extra money for the CE version at least.

As a huge megaman fan since childhood, I gotta say this game just feels dirty to me. Anniversary collection was one of my most frequent plays on PS2, and had visible love put into it - this, though, is just quickly cobbled together from an incomplete set with no real personality to it.

I'm so damn torn between buying it and praying to god Capcom decides to cap off Classic or X or Legends or ZX with a nice juicy finale a 'la battle network or zero, or boycotting it because it's seriously disgustingly lazy. It's even worse in that I have my doubts they'd do anything else even if the damn thing sold hotcakes.

Also, gold mega a shit.

Crapcom strikes again.

Also, solid MSRP deal.

Is this game actually playable in 3D or is it just the Virtual Console versions?
It is not the VC versions but it is not in 3D either. There are some 3D effects on minor UI frames but nothing in the gameplay.

The visual rendering is cleaner than the VC versions but there are some minor judder issues, whereas the VC versions play perfectly.

The competition isn't Super Mario All Stars or Capcom Classics Collection any more. Nobody is bundling 8-15 fantastic games for $20. Getting 4.5 really good games isn't bad, but, at the same time, I already overpaid for a couple of VC MM games. I'd be fine with no MM7 or 8 but you could at least throw in 9 and 10. Those are stuck on systems that are on their way out.

Digital version was changed from $29.99 to $14.99 on the Nintendo eShop earlier. Really considering returning my $40 Collector's Edition after that. Only things I really cared for in it, were the two home menu themes and the six postcards. There isn't even a retro manual included...

But that collection isn't the original NES versions like this is. Plus I bought the $15 digital version on PS4. I kept my PS2 one since it had 7 and 8 also.

I doubt this 3ds se will dip to Chibi robo prices but hopefully these last long enough for a sale down the line
Ditto. And it sucks the Gold Mega-Man amiibo comes with a plain white card. I mean come on, seriously. How hard would it have been to just re-use the exact character card as the regular blue Mega-Man amiibo, minus the Super Smash Bros logo of course. Tempted to return since I'm a new in box amiibo collector & that plain white card kills me. But if this thing goes rare faster than expected that would def suck. Got my 15 days to decide thanks to Best Buy's extremely short return period.

Wow just realized digital is only $15,

most cases I prefer physical but this case is a no brainer digital....

My GameStop order for the Collector's Edition got canceled. I placed the order on November.
Odd since there's no way they had too many orders compared to FE Fates Special Edition. I put an order in like two weeks on Best Buy.

Agreeing on the plain white card, I think they hugely advertised the gold amiibo but that was disappointing. The free music sorta seems half assed - the opening and title for Mega Man 2 are two separate tracks? But the amiibo itself does look cool, the post cards are quality and stickers are cute I guess.

Yeah, that was a little plain, but not a deal-killer for me. I like the music player, though all the tracks are mono (just like the original FC/NES versions). I've been spoiled by stereo fan remixes and remixes in stereo, but again, not a big deal for me.

I only have a couple of minor silly issues:

  • I would like to press left or right in long menus to scroll whole menu pages (music and museum pages)
  • Some of the carts in the museum scans have gross crap on them (zoom in on most NES carts and you'll see crud in the striped sections and sticker sections they didn't bother to clean or touch up).
Overall I'm really pleased to have this collection. Yes, other games in the series would have been cool to have, too, but for me this is still a great collection overall.
