Rock Band 4 PC Fig - Bulk Pack of all DLC songs (2000+) for ~%50, Discounted instruments

TBass

CAGiversary!
Harmonix is running a crowdfunding campaign to bring Rock Band 4 to Steam right now (and to bring back the Rock Band Network) at https://www.fig.co/campaigns/rock-band-4-pc

---------------------------------

EDIT: Update

They added a new tier with all of the DLC released between Nov. 2007 and Fall 2016 for $2500. That's almost 50% less than buying everything individually, and they've never done a bulk package like that before.

https://www.fig.co/campaigns/rock-band-4-pc?update=118#updates

---------------------------------
They have add-on items that count towards the total pledge including PC/PS4 instruments cheaper than they sell them normally. Right now they have:

-  $69 Guitar Controller
-  $179 Full Band Kit (Drums, Guitar, Microphone)

You need to pledge $10 to select any of the add-ons, but it's normally $99 for the Guitar and $250 for the game, so it still comes out to a solid discount.

Also, the $49 PC version of the game comes with 33 tracks that don't come for free with the console version.

I really want this to succeed, but at this point I'm just waiting for the fire sales to start on plastic instruments again.

Kinda disgusted that they want $1.5 million just to port a game to PC. I imagine most of the cost is to get the licenses for all the songs again because there's no way it could cost that much for a port. In which case, they should've just developed the game for the PC in the first place.

I'll buy it if it happens but there's no way I'm contributing anything to this. Especially with Harmonix's antics as of late (having developers of RB4 post positive reviews for the game on Amazon, delays for their last kickstarter, etc.).

I was kinda skeptical at first, but the second campaign update answered a lot of concerns I had with the 1.5M.

They have to remake their in-house engine from the ground up on PC, it's not an easy port like a Unity or Unreal game would be. Also, since milliseconds of precision are important in music games, it sounds like they're really targeting some good performance. Plus, they have the whole Rock Band Network infrastructure the consoles don't have.

harmonix didn't make a shit ton of "instruments". Not to say they will never go on sale but they won't be available everywhere with retailers trying to liquidate endless amounts like you'll be seeing with guitar hero very soon. Really the only place I see alot of rock bands would be gamestop/target.

I always thought they didn't want to bring rock band to pc due to the piracy aspect of the DLC and the RBN is a cool addition but I'm sure RB4 will get that on all systems over time.

cool idea, but they should fix/add all the features in the xbone/ps4 version first before they start worrying about making a port of it........

True, they didn't make a ton of instruments, but they ended up on sale just the same.

I'm really only holding off on this deal because it's not instruments for the Xbox One. I have a full set of Beatles instruments to use on PS4, but none for the Xbox One which has all the DLC I've been buying since Rock Band 1. I really just want to be able to buy the game+guitar for $60 or less.

I wonder if the PDP partnership speaks worse about Rock Band 4's sales or Mad Catz overall poor state. As far as controllers I thought PDP was to gaming now as Mad Catz was 10 years ago.

Fig in general seems really shady to me regardless.

Their campaign isn't looking too good with not even 25% of their goal yet. A PC port of Rock Band 4 would be nice, but somehow I have doubts that'll happen.

Just like @thievery says... until Rock Band creates a universal "Rock Band Account" and makes Rock Band a platform that doesn't lock itself into separate ecosystems, no one is going to be "upgrading" to the PC version of Rock Band when all of their DLC is locked to their Xbox 360.

You know, I said I wouldn't switch due to all of my DLC being non-transferable, but since I'm only paying $2500 instead of almost $5000, I'm sold.

Easy transition, my ass.

Sheesh, $2.5K for DLC content alone!?!?  Hope the servers are staying up forever if they expect people to make that kind of investment....
