[GameFly Offer to Previous Members Only!] Renew 30 Days for $1, Offer ends 3/31/16

Might wanna put it somewhere in the title that its sent to select members through email, because yeah...that link doesnt do anything but reloaded over and over, and the title along with link posted suggests anyone can take advantage of the deal.

Good call out though, i'll keep my eye out for the email.

I actually did receive one, myself, a few hours ago, and it's likely due to the fact that I haven't been a member in ~2 years. Can't wait to put 20 games in my queue and get the one at the very bottom!

The link is just a regular Gamefly link. Personal links to this deal are sent to GF customers who havent subscribed in a while. I didn't post mines for obvious reasons.
Thanks for the heads up. Found the link in my email under the heading, "$1 GameFly Subscription"

dont forget it will take 15 days as well

I guess if I don't get one that will be the lesser of two disappointments. Though I guess I did beat 3 or 4 games last time despite their crap shipping and crap picking out what to send me.

Got an email as well, subject said "Come back for $1". Probably will only get 1-2 of the games in my queue like everyone else said.

I got the email as other ones before about the discounted re-subscription, but every time I actually click them it always says the full price.

What's strange is that seven or eight years ago, I'd get games within a couple of days, yet now I see everyone complain about slow shipping speeds. I think they've even opened up at least one new warehouse (or whatever passes for a warehouse for them) in that time, too, so I'm curious as to what changed - or more accurately, why it's slower now.

Used gamefly for 5 years and nothing has changed. Most of the time I can expect the game in my mail box 2 days after they announce it ships. There are times where the games do get stuck for an extra day or two but it doesn't happen often.

It's based on how close you are to the warehouse.

It's based on what is near you and who has your game. There are shipping centers near New York but they would occasionally send me a game higher in my queue even though that game was only in the California center. Not sure if they've improved the algorithm that decides whether queue spot or delivery quickness is prioritized.

Gamefly used to be awesome but those days are long gone. My best guess would be that as they've become a large company they've cut costs as much as possible and also got a better but slower rate with USPS.

yeah, i live near a gamefly warehouse and used to get games from them in one business day. now it takes around three days.

Would love to do this at the end of the month then rent and beat Quantum Break, will save me $60, or should I say $59.

Of course I got no email. I think I'm going to email gamefly and ask for it.

Always hate to see them do things like this for people who are no longer interested, but ignore the people who have been subbed for a long time.  Couldn't use that to improve the crappy loyalty rewards system I guess.

They already have your money. It's like how I've been using Amazon Prime for almost seven years now and I never qualify for any of their special offers.

Right, and I understand that. But I'd be willing to bet money that this doesn't suddenly make people who didn't use their service before continue using it afterwards. With shipping costs, they probably are breaking near even. Maybe they'll get a few people who forget to unsub afterwards, similar to how PS+ and Xbox Live catches people.

Always felt like if they jumped the loyalty discount to -20% off used games (or at least 15%. Currently it's 10%) and $5 credit for used games every month (instead of every 3 months), they'd make a lot more money just from people not wanting to turn their subs off and actually choosing to keep/buy used games from them. I mean it takes a full year of subscribing just to get there. As it stands now, if I cancel my sub for 1-2 months, I can get a higher value instantly than a whole years worth of continuous subscribing. And everyone knows there's at least 1 month in the year that's slow, so not even really losing out on the sub when that happens.

No email. Shame. Wanted to beat some quick games. Does anyone else feel GameFly is going to die soon?
No? What makes you say that? Everyone always says that about everything - Gamestop, Best Buy, consoles, computers, books. None of them are going anywhere for a long time. If anything, Gamefly should be able to reduce costs now that the major platforms both use blu-ray so the discs are difficult to scratch.

It's just that I don't hear about GameFly thriving anymore: no ads, shipping's worse... it's clearly not as popular as it used to be.

Also, the same was also said about Borders, Circuit City, Blockbuster, and they're not here anymore. Humans tend to think the worst sometimes. It's perfectly normal.

Some of you guys have had some bad experiences with GameFly it seems. I've had nothing but good experiences. I've been a member off and on (money has been tight a few times) for years and always get the games in my top 3-5 (usually the first or second) in my Q. They ship here and back quickly too. I live only a few hours from a shipping center though.

Uh what's with the referral links? Also get a redirect loop on this link, and no e-mail/no offer.

Thanks, one account didn't offer it but the other did.

Edit- Zero idea why I spent the $1, there is nothing I want to play that I don't have!  Maybe I'll get Twilight Princess and hope I can get some of the upcoming quirky new releases.

Ha, I feel the same way. On one hand, it's a great deal, but on the other, the reason I canceled before is I ran out of things to play. Still, for a dollar I bet I could find a game or two that interests me enough to justify it.

Here's my link. Hopefully CAG's auto referral thing won't mess it up.
This worked for an old account, but after selecting the $1 reactivation offer, the next confirmation screen lists the full price. For those who had this work for them, did the confirmation screen list the regular plan price or the promotional price?

I decided to go ahead and resubscribe for a month. I was charged the full price IN ADDITION to the $1 reactivation, for a total of $18.47. Maybe they planned to cancel the full charge, but I'm not sticking around to find out. I just sent them an email asking that they reimburse the entire charge and just cancel my account. I've been pretty happy with RedBox for the rare occasion I want to rent a game.

It did for me, too, but it said it charged me $1 after I went ahead and paid.
