The Xbox One deluxe edition of PvZ: GW2 is $42 at Gamestop B&M. It is YMMV but plenty of stores by me have it. This is also the same price for the standard edition which can be ordered now. PS4 / XB1

Deluxe Edition comes with

  • Exclusive plant and zombie customization sets.
  • Grass Effect Z7 Imp and Mech character variant.
  • 14 emoji customization items.
  • Character variant sticker pack.
  • 200,000 PvZ Coins and more.

Since I'm not playing the game immediately and these sales are all over the place, maybe I should just return my copy...

I'm not surprised this is dropping in price. While it's a fun game, I personally do not think it's nearly as good as the first one. Plus it didn't help that they increased the msrp to $60. With that said, it's still one of the best values out there (free dlc).

I believe the Z7 Imp is actually exclusive to the deluxe version so take that into consideration.

I currently put 61 Hours into the game so far. I am really enjoying it. It's got quite a bit of depth to the game while still being very accessible and I think the new classes add to the game. Overall worth the price I paid.

Is there a difference between the deluxe version Imp and the Imp you get when you preordered?

The Z7 was also a pre-order bonus - but at this point - it's exclusive to the Deluxe Version (as are two costume sets). You can purchase the deluxe edition upgrade for $10 from the Store.

I've played a fair bit - I think I'm LVL 428 - and it's hard to say if there are still balance issues (the Scientist seems overpowered compared to the first game) or if it's just the result of unbalanced teams (i.e. not enough variety in classes on the team, like everyone are Corn, Rose, and Citron, but no Flowers or Peashooters). It's still fun, but I don't enjoy Turf Takeover as much as I did in the first game (Gardens/Graveyards is almost exclusively what I played in GW1) because it really seems to depend on team balance (characters picked, skill level of the player, # of players on each side, etc).

The pre-order Imp and the deluxe version imp (the Z7) are the same. There are two costume sets (not Character Variants) exclusive to the deluxe version though (Viking costume for Corn & one I forget on the Zombies side).
