I'm surprised Killzone hasn't been free with Plus. Same goes for Knack :).
Sony hasn't given out any free decent PS4 games since Infamous First Light late 2014 or early 2015 (I don't remember when). Aside from that, it's all been filler junk. Unlike Microsoft who'll give out freebies like Sunset Overdrive or Gears of War or Dead Space, Sony wont risk giving out anything they could charge you for instead. It's a damn shame because the only reason Sony is doing it the way they are is because they know people will buy their console regardless of what they do, and don't have to do a damn thing to appease their audience because they don't have to do anything at all to get their money.

Rocket League?

Ok, so 2 decent games. Between the XB1 and 360, there have been probably 50 free worthwhile games in 2015 for GWG alone. Between the PS3 and PS4, what, maybe 10 for a similarly priced PS+? I remember back in 2012, 2013, and 2014 (on the PS3 at least), we were getting quality games back to back like Bioshock Infinite, Demon's Souls, Metro Last Light, Borderlands 2, LittleBigPlanet 2, Infamous 2, etc but once the PS4 dropped and had success, Sony was like "fuck it"

The most recent 4 for $10 I can remember was in October/November and I don't remember it being on the list then. Was there one more recent than that?
I think that was the last one. Was really surprised they would have PS4 titles as part of that sale. Picked up Killzone and another game called Who's the Man? (hope I got the name right) in that sale.

4 for $10 sales have been so few and far between. Their other sales have been pretty bad. With my Powerrewards Pro expiring soon, I might not renew. I've been buying more new games than used these days and my OCD where I have to have games and boxes in like-new condition or I'm not buying it has made buying used more trouble than it's worth. I think I spend more time cleaning the disks and boxes before adding these games to my collection than actually playing them. Still, $2.50 for a PS4 game is pretty decent.

I picked up Killzone: ShadowFall on clearance at Target a few weeks ago for $9.97. I didn't realize it was a good deal. Only picked it up solely because I have yet to play it.

I bought it for 20 a while back because I was afraid it would become one of those games I was too slow to get and it goes outta print and I have to grab it for a dumb price later down the road.

Better safe than sorry I guess

Hmm, some of those older PS4 games got re-issues recently. Best Buy had inFamous Second Son NIB (I missed out) and then GameStop got in a bunch too, same with LittleBigPlanet 3 on PS4.

How is Killzone Shadow Fall though? I played 2 on PS3, disliked it and heard mixed things on Shadow Fall. I see it all the time at TRU and sometimes GameStop

The PS3 Killzone games have much higher scores in reviews so if you didn't like those, I don't think you would like this one.

It was a solid PS4 exclusive launch game, but it doesn't have much staying power by more modern standards. I enjoy the Killzone games, and given it was a launch title, it was a no-brainer, but I haven't played it since early 2014

I noticed that too yeah. I also felt it was just some above average launch title. Probably will stay away. I want to try Killzone again, but I don't like the feel of the series.

I've noticed a trend that a lot of series that were highly rated in past-generation consoles have not fared as well in the current generation. Whether you look at Killzone, Halo, Mario, Street Fighter or Final Fantasy, the new games may be prettier but just doesn't play well compared to its predecessors. This is happening on all 3 of the latest consoles (PS4, Xbox One and Wii U) and it seems their solution for their lackluster new library of games is to re-release old games with a graphical facelift and get gamers to buy games they probably already own yet again with a HD upgrade. Yet this sells because we, as gamers are suckers for a graphical upgrade.

Could it be that game developers are getting overwhelmed with programming on newer and ever more powerful hardware and while they're caught up in the technical challenges of making the game as graphically-advanced as possible, they are simply not making fun games with substance. Give me a truly fun game with a great storyline even if its graphically-backwards than a game that looks great but is not fun or have no story worth playing through.

So for me, I continue to have my older systems active instead of hidden in the closet or traded in to Gamestop as there are far better games on the old than the newest systems.

I would say focusing on multiplayer has destroyed the quality of single player campaigns

campaigns that plenty of people still want to play. We have more and more online only games coming out and more campaigns being severely neglected or scrapped entirely.

I to this day still never play multiplayer online and while my choice is rare my love for well thought out campaigns is not.

This is why people get so excited when a campaign based game like quantum break come out.

viva la single player!

I totally agree with you there. Having spent almost the entirety of my gaming experience offline and playing single-player campaigns or multi-player on split-screen, the whole idea that game publishers are eliminating or making offline play such a small part of their games, I say they are losing a huge chunk of the gaming audience.

In my household, a party-gaming experience is what is king. My son and several friends want to be able to play together on a single console on a single TV screen. Game publishers have to understand that not every gamer have the luxury of hogging a console for themselves playing in an online environment with other "single" players who have fast internet and is paying for Xbox Live or PSN. I know I can't afford that luxury and prefer playing offline rather than on.

I have a feeling the ps4 and xbox one are the last consoles I'll ever buy (other than maybe the NX eventually)

we are headed to online only and it's just time for me to step off the multiplayer train.

The 360 was incredible and the ps3 is damn nice. I have a huge library from NES to current gen and If I never buy a new game again I think that's alright with me. I'd rather play a great campaign with crappy graphics alone than a beautiful online game with no heart or soul online.

It is depressing to see so many of these franchises I grew up on turn into forgettable piles of multiplayer doody

The funny thing is that I have been looking for deals for PS3 and Wii and Wii U much than PS4 and Xbox One. There are so many JRPGs and fighting games I wish I could get for PS3 but I'll never be able to afford them. I may be weird for thinking this way but I just like how the PS3 game boxes look in my collection and the novelty of getting lesser known games ported from other countries. I wish I could do the same for Xbox 360 but my machine has been kind of flaky. As for Wii and Wii U, the multi-player aspect of many of their games appeal to me more than any other system.

I wish I still have my NES. My brother gave it away along with my collection of games for it. The SNES is as far back that I go.
