I'm just wondering if Nintendo plans to eventually port every great Wii U title over, or will there still be a reason to keep my Wii U plugged in. At the moment it's still the only way to play a couple remastered Zelda titles, Tokyo Mirage Sessions, Yoshi's Woolly World (the 3DS version isn't quite on the same level visually), Super Mario 3D World, etc.
With the NS doing so well currently, and "N" being beyond slow in regards to game development, I expect more ports to happen for sure. How many more, and how often, who can say? They will always have a need to fill space between new releases, so it's a given these titles will continue to happen. The NS has beat the U's lifetime sales in a years time, that's nuts, especially considering how there still isn't much original software, but I guess being totally portable, as helped greatly.
I agree that even though the ports have full prices now, that won't last, and in enough time, these games will be $20 again. As for keeping the U, that depends on how many titles a person can't do with out. I tricked out my Wii U when I got it(as support was long dead at that time), so it's an all in one machine for me at this point. So I'll probably be keeping mine for awhile, but I may get rid of it if and when all it has to offer is NS bound, but I doubt it will get all past titles(but most for sure).

But the question is, aside from the increased MSRP (which is only a temporary inconvenience as price cuts and sales will eventually happen) why would anyone want to buy the WiiU version of a game instead of the Switch version? With the Switch, at the very least you now have a version of that game you can take on the go, and at times the Switch version is even more complete or has additional features, like Mario Kart 8.
The Wii U is where all my Wii/Wii U Virtual Console and Wiiware is, so I'll be keeping mine plugged up for a very long time! We'll see at E3, but it seems like Switch Virtual Console won't match up with what the Wii/WiiU offered, but that's fine since the Wii U is still available. Plus, I never use my Switch in TV mode, so no space on the HDMI is lost.
I hope we get more port announcements at E3! Mario Maker, 3D World, and Wooly World are at the top of my list!
As a side note, it seems the main reason why Wii U sales were slow is because games were slow to come out. And in 2013, Nintendo explained why games came out slowly during the 73rd Shareholder Meeting Q&A (read it here. It's really good! https://www.nintendo...27qa/index.html )
Miyamoto: "When it comes to the scale of software development, Wii U with HD graphics requires about twice the human resources than before. Please allow me to explain that we may have underestimated the scale of this change and as a result, the overall software development took more time than originally anticipated just as we tried to polish the software at the completion phase of development. However, we are almost out of this phase..."
With all the Switch ports, Nintendo can recoup costs and time put into the game while making new games.

I thought it was terrible, and not very "Outrun", as it looked great, but that is about the end of it for me. I played it only a few times, but that was enough for me to say I didn't like it. There may be a few positive reviews, but I know it has negative ones, as I've read them. For 1-2 dollars, I would say cool, but at $5, I would wait.

Yes, the Wii U has the same capabilities as the original Wii. You just need to mod it correctly to allow the games to play. Believe you need Nintendont to play them. It’s been a while, but I believe that’s still the current program to play GC games on Wii U

With everyone saying Stardew Valley and with her enjoying BoTW (presumably that includes the combat) I’ll throw in a recommendation for Rune Factory 3 or 4, which Stardew Valley took inspiration from. It has a lot more combat, and has hundreds of weapons with elemental and various other effects, like BoTW

Thank you. We don’t currently have a 3ds but I imagine that being fixed soon enough.

Does anyone know if the Arena DLC for Neon Chrome exists on the Nintendo eShop? It's listed on the main menu of the game but when you open it and it directs you to the eShop, the DLC does not exist.
I've done a google search to try and get some information but that's been a losing battle, so thought I'd ask here if anyone has an idea about it

Ten of the 20 launch titles for Nintendo Switch Online:
- Soccer
- Tennis
- Donkey Kong
- Mario Bros.
- Super Mario Bros.
- Balloon Fight
- Ice Climber
- Dr. Mario
- The Legend of Zelda
- Super Mario Bros. 3
With online play added to every classic game, you can compete (or cooperate) online with friends, share your screen, or pass the controller, depending on the game. With the Nintendo Switch Online smartphone app, you can also voice chat during your play sessions.
Online play for games like Splatoon 2, Arms, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Mario Tennis Aces, and Sushi Striker: The Way of Sushido.
The other big feature for the online service is Save Data Cloud Backup. More details in September.
Pricing is largely the same, but they will have a Family Membership option (up to seven others) for 12 months at $34.99 while the others are just for one person/account.
https://www.nintendo...ne-service/faq/
Details on the family membership stuff:
How do I create a family group?
Starting May 15, 2018, it will be possible to create a Nintendo Account Family Group via your Nintendo Account settings. Up to eight Nintendo Accounts (including child accounts) can be linked as a family group.
Can child accounts be added to a family group and use a family membership for Nintendo Switch Online?
Yes. Any Nintendo Accounts associated with the family membership can use the service features. Parents may use Nintendo Switch Parental Controls to set restrictions for online play; restrictions for the Nintendo Online Service app can be managed with your smartphone's parental control restriction settings.
What you get without the membership:
If I don't purchase a Nintendo Switch Online membership plan, will my Nintendo Switch system have any online features?
Yes. Online features including Nintendo eShop, Friend registration and management, the sharing of screenshots over social networks, Nintendo Switch Parental Controls, system and software updates, and Nintendo Switch News will not be affected by the launch of the Nintendo Switch Online paid service.
