Anyone keeping up with current events have seen a good bunch of REPUBLICANS passing laws aimed at discriminating or downright justify hate for people that do not fit their beliefs.

Republican fear Sharia Law yet they have no problem passing Evangelical Right Wing Hate Laws?

Are Republicans no different then the Muslim Extremist they like to fight against?

And NO this law doesn't protect other religion it only protect "Christians"

What laws were passed by Republicans OP that were discriminating?  Did any Democrats vote for these passed laws, did Obama veto the law or speak up against them?

Also what Evangelical Right Wing hate laws were passed?

What laws discriminate against other religions but support Christians?

I'm really interested in hearing your response.

Conservatives display a greater predilection for tribal thinking.  Or, rather, people who display a strong degree of tribal thinking tend to become conservatives.  This comes out in the form of nationalism and, at a smaller level, various prejudices against "others" -- racism, various -phobias, etc.

This isn't to say that all conservatives think that way (there's other components to conservatism than tribalism) nor that liberals are immune: we all display defensiveness towards attacks on family, our town/city, our choice of gaming platforms or whatever else.  It's just part of human psychology.  But the conservative ideology embraces that way of thinking to a greater extent.

That would be neoconservatism. Conservatism, the one that was preached by candidate Ronald Reagan and Barry Goldwater embraces individuality.

Progressives are closer to racism and discrimination. People on this board like to throw insults just because there is a difference of opinion.

Nah, there's been several studies done showing that conservatives tend towards valuing group loyalty.  Group loyalty (aka tribalism) isn't innately a bad thing; it's a necessary component for a working society.  However, it can also offshoot into jingoism, xenophobia and other forms of intolerance.  On the positive side, group loyalty (and expectations within the group) tend towards stability and predictable results which are things more prized by conservatives than liberals.  But it's a cycle as well -- since your group provides stability, anything perceived as threatening your group threatens your stability and you're much more prone to react with hostility towards the "other".  Which then leads to people flipping their shit about having to choose between Spanish and English at the ATM and going on about how immigrants are ruining the country.

There's a lot more that goes into our political psyche of course than just group loyalty and a number of casual interpretations of the studies overstate the result ("liberals only care for fairness and lack of harm" as though they don't care about law & order, family groups, tradition, etc) but the fact is that, all other things being equal, if you display a strong sense of tribalism you're more apt to think like a conservative.

You are describing both parties. Republicans love loyalty and that is true, yet that is what Clinton is demanding on the left. The thing is we are not talking about parties but principles and ideologies. Conservatism leads to community through volunteerism vs progressive is done through force.

One of the best studies in history that being the Soviet Union showed your so called example of tribalism. People would be sent to the gulag just for expressing a different opinion. In the end I can see tribalism being more developed within a republican party but not with the actual conservatives. Perhaps neocons and RINOs but not the people I mentioned above.

Yet nonetheless there is a lot of intolerance on the left just as much as there is on the right. I have experienced here and IRL.

LOL!!!! keep smoking that right wing pipe. Conservatives in this country will NEVER respect or accept people different from them. They want a bible thumping, gun toting, white people state.

Don't kid yourself to think conservatives will ever care for the equality of those different from them. Ronald Reagan was a racist and bigot. He could care less about black people when he helped and was instrumental in flooding American street with crack and watch gays die because they were blamed mainly for HIV.

Clearly you are right! Obviously the founding fathers were wrong and we should follow the example of Clintons, Rahm, and Sean Penn's of the world.

As I said, neither broad group is immune to it so anecdotal evidence isn't worth much towards proving prevalence. But, hey, the research is out there. You can read it or you can say "Nuh UH!" or you can read it and then say "Nuh UH!" -- doesn't matter a ton to me.

For the OP, if you look into group loyalty and political ideology, you'll find some of the information you seek.

Is it hateful to make a law that says a person who has a penis at birth must use the bathroom designed for people with penises? If not, are not we violating the rights of woman to not have penises in their bathrooms?;-)

You are a idiot if you want us to believe this was just a "bathroom" law.  The bathroom part was less than 10% of the law, the remainder is where the bigotry lies.

So don't kid yourself it is a so call bathroom law, it had nothing to do with bathroom in reality

That's the part of the law that is troublesome to me. I fully support rights for gay marriage if the gov't must stick its tyrannical hands into even mostly religious and emotion based subjects. Equality for all! ;-) If you do not want to give out gay marriage licenses, than find a new job. I do support private business rights to deny service FOR ANY REASON, as long as they are indeed private. Freedom for all! The Young Turks lost their mind over the bathroom issue. Truly hysterical!

I'm pretty sure that's not actually a right.
You did see the smiley face denoting sarcasm, no? I support state based voting to allow or disallow transgender use of public restrooms. I like my laws based on physical evidence, not how a person "feels". What if I feel black? Can I get some of that sweet affirmative action based on that feeling?;-)

If you're still talking about the North Carolina law, you're right. The law also forbade local governments for passing minimum wage laws, in addition to any other anti-discrimination measures. The bathroom is the trojan horse, and if you live in the state, prepared to be bitten in the ass by reactionary economic plans.
