Gamestop PUR coupon: 10 percent off pre-owned when using store pick-up

Found 10% off pre-owned game/accessory when using pick-up in store in active offers in PUR account. Expires 4/10/16. OH BOY!
that sucks because i just bought MK XL and Dying Light Following both for xbox one

YMMV

Is store pick up @ Gamestop similar to Best Buy's store picking up?
Or is it just that hold request that we can do in the app?

It's just a hold request. The store may or may not even hold it for you. Hit or miss and kind've pointless. I have better success calling and asking them to hold it for a few hours.

I went into a store about a year ago when the Wii U Gamecube controller adapters came back in stock in short supply. I asked to buy one, but they only had one left and it was a hold request. The two employees looked at each other and said, well this guy is here now so we'll just give it to him (me). I didn't buy it because I didn't want to be the other guy who made the request and left empty handed. For some stores I will request a hold, and it won't ever be held.

I'v learned the hard way: completionists and collectors should NEVER do blind, used purchases from Gamestop! I am a completionist and need the artwork & manual. A long time ago, I had hoped that it mattered what kind of shape your games were in when you traded them in. However, it doesn't. GS will give u the same price if ur game is lonesome & beat-up vs complete & immaculate. Now, I do used from GS all the time but I make sure to do it in person, when I can inspect the case and see what's included. If this doesn't matter to u, then go ahead and reserve remotely! I'll pass......

You don't have to accept the copy they hold for you. You're not pre-purchasing it (Even if you did, you don't have to accept the copy they hand you). You let the cashier know that you have a hold, tell them your name, they get the copy they held, and you can ask for a different copy if you so choose. I've done it plenty of times.

Why not ask for a complete copy?

While on the topic of PUR and Gamestop memberships:

The PUR website has shown for a while now that I have a trade balance of $4.85. Not a large sum, but I certainly wouldn't mind applying to my next purchase. I feel like I asked a rep about this a year or so ago, and they said that since the trade balance was likely attached to my physical PUR card (which is long since gone), I couldn't claim it without the card. Is that true?

Should be able to use the GS app.

if this hasn't already been said in the thread you don't have to store pick up, it will just work scanning when you buy something in store.

Yes, slang is apparently no longer appropriate on a gaming blog, and you feel the need to point out something which I already know. Neato. Do you feel better?
The point is that you just shoved a cactus up the backside of the English language. It's "kind of." "Kind've" is not and has never been a thing.

So what? I spend my days writing legal prose. I'd rather write like a fool on here. Thanks for being such a fun guy at parties.

It does stack fine. I just made a purchase and used 10%, 20% and a $25 reward certificate and everything went through fine.
Do you just give them each coupon separately?

Just checking if there's a no hassel approach to follow since both coupons say can not be combined.

Yes, my approach is to scan my PUR card and then the game I am buying, then I handed 20%, 10% and then the $25 reward certificate. All scan without any issues.

Thanks. I'll give it a go. Usually the system overrides on these and only takes 1. I think I may pick Skyward Sword back up since it is rarely going below 50 anymore. Only others I can think of that I've beat but want back for my collection is Last of Us and Diablo UEE. The first is usually cheap digital and the 2nd is under 25 frequently.

The only time it ever takes only one is when you try to use multiples of the same type of coupon on one transaction. (ie. 2 $5 off preowned)

I used this, a 20% that expires at the end of the month, and a $10 off preowned and got RBI 16 for a little under $3.

so u used it on a single game? Or did u have 3+ games in the transaction? I can already see the GAs saying "these don't stack!" xD

It stacks. You don't even have to do a store pick up.
Just to make sure...can i stack this 10% pickup that doesn't have to be reserved online lol and the 10% PUR & 20% summer coupon we all got & the 20% birthday coupon on just 1 game? o_O I need a 4th game for the extra $10 on 2 tradeins for xb1/ps4 games lol

Tried using both coupons earlier today and the cashier lied to my face and told me that she was unable to even check to see if a second coupon would scan on penalty of losing her job. She told me that corporate watches the cameras and that if they saw her willingly scan two coupons, she would be fired. Absolute BS. There's absolutely no way what she said was true. If Gamestop didn't want multiple coupons to scan, they'd just update their software to refuse any coupons beyond one.

For some reason this lady REALLY didn't want me to save a few dollars.

This is a straight up lie. I've had managers scan two coupons before. Some people just hate when other people get good deals.
