You can't really blame cliffyb though.  He found success so early in his career.  Is he at the same level of #captainridiculous as the J-Devs?  I think living outside of NYC or LA kept his ridiculous levels in check.

I found an old Entertainment Weekly once and saw a picture of CliffyB with orange hair. Oh Generation X.

Shipwreck says DOAX3 is a game about building self esteem for sexy young women? Is there an option in the game for giving a brochure for a community college in it?

So if we are banging cheapy we have a better chance at getting our questions answered? What did wombat have to do to become a co-host?

John Romero is my candidate for America's Captain Ridiculous. The hair, the bad 90s metal clothes, "Suck it down," "John Romero is going to make you his bitch," the flashy Ferrari. He also married that cute gamer girl and convinced her to get bleach blonde hair and fake boobs. Read the book "Masters of Doom" for the whole story.

I totally agree with Wombat.  When video game characters look like their familiar 'real life' counterparts, it takes me out of the game.  I had a really hard time with Force Unleashed for this reason.  Even when I see something like a Leonardo DiCaprio film, I have a hard time seeing it for the story it is telling because...oh, there's Leonardo DiCaprio acting.

Also, I kinda want a gotdamned $200 doorbell now. THANKS CHEAPY.

Agreed on Romero, he seems like the most obvious choice. I read Masters of Doom also, i think he gave away his souped-up Ferrari away at QuakeCon as a prize when he got bored of it. He sounds like the type that would have bought a room full of strangers something random that he thought was cool just for the hell of it, like shots of expensive liquor or hookers.

I think you guys are expecting a Marvel atmosphere with the DC Cinematic Universe. When I read Batman and Justice League comics, I'm not laughing out loud or remembering it for the jokes; it's generally gloomy and very serious.

I just don't think Batman v Superman should get criticized for its tone.

Wombat: Your wife is looking for some home improvements.

"Display these nice" is code for "New floating shelves and cabinets."

Have fun looking at catalogs "for ideas."

I fell off listening to the CAGcast back in 2007. An just start listening a few weeks ago. Back then Cheapy was in Japan struggling to learn Japanese, ShipWreck was just making guest appearances on the show, and Wombat was chronically unemployed. ShipWreck joining the cast seemed obvious, Cheapy moving back from Japan was a bit of a shocker, but Wombat being gainfully employed almost made my jaw hit the floor I really never saw that coming.

The show is still great, a fun way to kill an hour.

I think Remote Play may have some uses. For people who travel a lot, or like me who want to do a little gaming over their lunch hour. Games like Destiny or The Division where you need to check vendors or kind of things like collecting flags in Assassin's Creed or Phone Recordings in The Division. So that you can do actual game play when you are on your PS4.

Since Cheapy & ShipWreck recommended Quantum Leap I will have to pick this up.

Cheapy,

I saw you post something earlier this week about a house for sale that was designed by architect, Marcel Breuer. I am not familiar with architecture styles or architects, but a quick Internet search of his name brings up various 'modernist' houses and buildings that he designed. I'm just curious, was your house designed by this particular architect? Your house looks somewhat similar to those modernist style houses that he designed. What can you tell us about your house's design or the designer? What steered you toward that style of house? I seem to recall you mentioning something about that style of house in a recent movie or TV series that you really liked. Did you consider having one scratch built to your exact specs? What compromises did you have to make by buying an already-built house? In other words, was it missing anything that you really wished your 'dream house' would have? Regardless, it looks like a fantastic home. Keep up the great work on the podcast!

OOOH, I can't wait til next week. New Dark Souls game, new discussion of the vast conspiracy around Dark Souls reviews. It's can't be that they are good games.

Since Cheapy & ShipWreck recommended Quantum Leap I will have to pick this up.
If you go to best buy and pick up quantum leap you will be disappointed it's not a game or pleasantly surprised on the quality of the show. The name of the game is quantum Break.

I don't know if they're ridiculous, per se, but the project leads on the God of War series had increasingly ridiculous names, to the point that I'm half convinced it was on a dare.

David Jaffe - the most normal name of the bunch, but still makes your face feel whimsy when you say his last name.

Cory Barlog - Always looks like a typo or an autocorrect error. Mildly ridiculous.

Stig Asmussen - What in hell.

I believe the director of the upcoming God of War will be announced soon, and his name will have to be Gnarl Beefbroth or something to keep the series on this bizarre trend.

PS4 Remote Play

I understand that you guys don't have a use for remote play because you have houses and multiple TVs (maybe not Cheapy), but it's very helpful for people like me. My wife and I are in a small apartment and our main TV is our only TV. Turning my iMac into an alternate PS4 screen is a very nice feature.

VR talk from last week

Some of Wombats comments about VR not becoming the next iPhone are a bit unfair. When the first iPhone came out, it had no 3rd party apps, barely any 3rd party email support, and only SMS texting. It was very limited functionally, but showed a lot of potential. It took one or more years to resolve those aforementioned issues. I think it's only fair we give VR that long to prove itself.
