So im mostly fucked..

i was with anthem since  paying my  own way. My health insurance went from  200 bucks per month  up to  550  a month when i dropped  them back  on jan 1.

i went to united since it was the only plan that was around 400 bucks per month with a max of 5000.. now  if i want insurance i wiill have to pay between 450 to 500 per month or higher and my  max will now be 10 to 12k.

yea  obamacare really protected people, the only people it protected was the fucks  who was too lazy to get off their asses.. I love how  our  health cost keeps going higher and higher  BUT  those on HIP..

if they dont use the ER for one year they get a  500 buck gift card   (higher then what they pay all year for their health care)

word of advice to people coming out of high school..  DONT GET A JOB SIT ON YOUR ASS AND GET ALL OF THE FREE SHIT YOU CAN, Cause if  you work    they will take it all from you and give you nothing in return

this is bull shit where a person with a  cold can go into a hositpal and pay nothing  YET   i been having chest pain for the last  few days  YET  i cant go to the   hospital  cause i cant  afford the 1000 buck co pay i will be hit with

Fuck this country

dont worry in  1 or 2 more years it  all will be single payer.

they are leaving due to the fact they said  over 50% of the people they signed up though the marketplace  NEVER PAID THEIR  BILL  they said it was free and did not have to pay... i think i will just take all of my cash out of the bank  so it looks like i have nothing so i get everything for free

Do it.  Seriously, do it.

Everyone acts like "I should just quit my job and get free this and that!" but no one actually follows through because they know that's not really how it works and they wouldn't be able to maintain their lifestyle even as they huff about poor people with iPhones buying a dozen steaks with food stamps.  But you can be different -- close your accounts, quit your job and hop on that sweet free gravy train and quit bitchin'.

He already did once. Don't you remember the thread where he was bitching about trying to get public assistance but they denied him? It was a few years ago but I'm sure it's still discoverable.

Yeah, I remember that. Didn't he try to get disability because of something with his back, but got denied?

Hey, slidecage...guess who was responsible for that too. Cause it's not the people you're trying to blame. But feel free to continue being a shill and keep voting against your own interests.

Bottom line - our health care system was f'ed LONG before Obama even though about running for president. United States per capita healthcare spending is more than twice the average of other developed countries yet we now rank around 31st in the world in regards to the quality of health care the average citizen gets. Hell, even countires like Colombia, Morocco, Cyprus, Belgium, Greece, and Oman have higher health care ratings. And just look at health care spending:

healthare_zpsr61dhicr.png

Were basically #1 in health care spending, and not by a small margin either, yet we only rank 31st in the world in regards to the average health of our citizens and those numbers have actually improved since Obama has been in ofice. We were as low as 42nd in the world at one point. Not to mention, we still have over 32 million non elderly people who are uninsured and the #1 cause of bankruptcy in this country is medical bills. Again, our health care system was f'ed LONG before Obama ever step foot in the white house so if you want to blame Obama.....well, by all means have at it but you better include all of the other presidents that have been in office the last 30+ years. Otherwise you just come off as completely biased.

Basically our health care system is really no different than any other aspect of our country at this point. Its all completely f'ed, be it military spending, aging infrastructure, loss of jobs, an utterly corrupt financial sector, an utterly corrupt government that is bought and paid for by lobbyists and special interest groups, a level of debt that is literally impossible to pay off, the FED printing/creating money like there is no tomorrow (which is very possible), and the list goes on and on and on. The US is just completely f'ed and this is exacty what you get when you a have a competely corrupt and inept government.

And if you think its going to get better anytime soon....well, your living in la la land. My plan is to get out while I can as this country is headed for a massive crash that makes the great depression look like a party. I have a set goal in mind in regards to savings and investments and once I reach that goal, its adios USA and hello Costa Rica.

Wow, a whole 60 bucks an hour? Clearly you have never run your own business before. Paying your employee's is just one of MANY expenses that business owners have. You have health insurance, phone bills, electricity bills, water bills, heating bills, promotion or advertising expenses, insurance (both property and liability), permits and licenses, equipment and mantience for that equipment, taxes, and the list goes on and on.

Not to mention a mom & pop garage isn't going to be hiding their profits in offshore banking accounts to avoid paying taxes (ie. the reason people are against "the billionaire class").

Obviously, there are shady garages that rip customers off. But i'm pretty sure most of us have plenty of pitchforks left for those assholes too. Not sure what point slidecage is trying to make on this one...other than changing the subject from his original horrible point.

Where can we go next? Clubbing baby seals for sport?

Apparently Republicans love nothing more than to bring mutant deformed babies into America too

Or as right wing Republicans say "nothing that prayer can't solve"  and if we had guns we could shoot at these misqueetttooes, and if people just used their own sex'ed bathrooms there wouldn't be diseases...LOL  so its all Obama fault.

Nothing dangerous about Zika, after all children born with it will need life long GOVERNMENT ASSISTANCE for their condition, and we all know how much Republicans love to put people on the gov't's tits :)

I haven't been keeping track of Slidecage's failed attempts to get on the public dole but it's kind of funny that doing so is too hard for him.

I feel slidecage's pain. I recently retired early from a fire department, have a nice nest egg of savings and stock dividends and profits to live off of due to decent financial planning and impulse control.  I plan to surf and play tennis as much as possible while other suckers my age are working. The crazy part is that the ACA has bombarded me with letters since my employer paid healthcare is over. They are desperate for people to sign up since the program is running so far below expectations. I do not want their coverage due to ideological differences in the plan (gov't forces you to buy product from private company....freedom and liberty indeed...). They will give me 283 dollars a month in subsidy if I do not work and just collect my dividends. I have to take this deal or pay about a 900 dollar penalty according to their figures they sent me. So all you suckers who work and are paying taxes are giving me, an able bodied person, "free" health insurance that I am forced to accept or pay the penalty. The gov't has forced me to suckle at their teat. Quite hilarious actually.;-) I might actually research the criteria to legally obtain as many forms of gov't welfare as possible and start exploiting the system. It will make for a great book.;-) It reminds me of a fire dept saying, "Stop fighting the funk", which basically meant to stop trying to educate the ignorant citizens  that 911 is for life threatening emergencies, not for headaches, toothaches, and basic tummy aches. It was much easier to just transport the dummies than try to reason with them, even though it meant that grandma down the street who is having an actual heart attack is left to wait for an ambulance much farther away. Hospital and transport bills did not dissuade them because they do not pay in any case. So I just might start soaking up all this super generous "free" money and other resources that the gov't wants to give me by taking it by threat of force from others who actually earned it....I mean, why fight the funk?;-)

As a tax-paying working "sucker", I'm okay with that.  I'd be even happier if we extended that to everyone getting "free" tax-payer funded healthcare.

tell you what if you okay with that, why dont you send me your  paycheck every  week since you dont need it.

also never had any problems with health insurance until they stuck their nose in it.. it was between  180 to 230  for the last 10 year and then boom  last 2 years..   260  to 350 and then 350 to 500.

o by the way you will still go bankrupt to save your life  cant afford healthcare  too bad   they will still take everything you own

and love how people think a  16 year old has the right to have children and then has the right to demand they never have to work yet they are  giving a free house. free food  free phones..  Just like the free phone thing.. Yea i can see giving someone a phone  if they need help but they dont need  FREE TEXTING, i dont have texting on my phone cause i cant affored the extra 10 a month  Yet they get it for free... if you cant affford  a phone you dont need textting

Nah.  I'll tell you what I will do though, which is continue to work for and vote in people who will try and change the entire healthcare funding system rather than taking in one bitter charity case off the internet.

Much appreciated.;-) I would be more ok with gov't based healthcare than the crony "buy or suffer the gov't's wrath" deal that we have now.

Especially a guy who claims to have $200K in the bank and then says he "can't afford" $10 a month for texting.

Obviously, having a savings like that is an amazing, wonderful thing...and something to be commended even. But at least have the decency to acknowledge that it's a choice. Living like a schmuck and saving for "some day" (that might never come) is a personal decision that you make.

And slidecage, if you're not saving it for hard times (ie. when you can't work), what in the hell are you saving it for? As for your "16 year old mother on government assistance" scenario...what would you suggest she do? Most conservatives are strongly against abortion (hell, Trump even thinks she should go to jail for it). We don't have time machines yet, so she can't go back and undo her decisions. So, your choices are feed her or kill her. If you're that against helping her out, then at least grow some balls and admit you'd rather let her (and the baby) starve to death.

And I'm sorry, but to an extent, "government assistance" is really a home security and safety measure. Because, as Trump will most definitely find out if he's elected, taking away things like healthcare, food stamps, etc. will make crime skyrocket. Anybody who thinks it was bad before has no clue what it would be like after you allow people to have something and then take it away. I guarantee people will steal before they go without.

But yet, many Republicans are going to cock their shotguns and say "bring it on". Yeah, enjoy living in that world...because it's the one where society collapses.

You do know gov't assistance is WIDELY supported by RICH people and Corporations because in turn they can than pay less in wages

yea  one  child yes but there are tons  that are told  the more kids you have the money cash you get.   Why should someone be given more cash you cant  take care of  1 child    but then they just have  more and more and more
