The topic title suggests the former, but the tweet says the latter.

Well I ended up getting madmax with the $20 off PUR coupon and tropico 5 (for basically $20+$28) and immediately used the $10 gift card on the $5 off two $14.99+ games that hadn't been mentioned.
Had credit or I wouldn't have bothered

Edit: and now I just remembered there's an xbone version with extra stuff in it. (They discounted the game $10 so if someone does something similar you don't just get the gift card for free)

So, what if you buy the games and then return them after getting the gift card? Pretty sure you can return new games as long as you don't open them. (unless it's already opened being the way GS is)

The $10 for the gift card is taken off the game so you won't get full value for returning

The price before discounts and PUR needs to be $39.99 for the new game and also $39.99 for the used game.

In my case it allowed the PUR coupon for mad Max (to $19.99, tried this after adding the used game and gift card) and dropped the used game $10 and then took off the PUR 10% down to $26.99.

You basically buy a $10 GC to get $10 off the used game so that PUR takes off a little less I assume

that's not too bad a deal with Mad Max if you can find a used game you want priced $39 or more.
 
Another GameStop ripoff "promo" unless you were going to buy a new game and an old game priced $39.99 or above anyways
