Yeeeesssssss. I can finally rid myself of Sunset Overdrive. Enjoyed the game very much, however I have no use for a physical copy of the game a) now that I beat it and b) it was free to download from Games with Gold.

This information may be a bit outdate (from an old Walmart video game trade thread), however this is the jist of it.

check here(scroll down, enter zip code) to find which Walmart stores in your area are participating. You will be surprised how many are NOT

Upon completion of your trade ins, you will receive a print out of an E-gift card which is a piece of paper with a barcode on it that contains your trade in moneyz! You can use this to purchase the game if you want.

FAQ

Q: Where inside do I trade in games?

A: Go to electronics, look for where they activate/sell phones. This is where it is done

(edit---->) A#2: They are mostly handled at electronics, but some stores handle them at customer service and some stores handle them at the wireless department (which could be separate from electronics). And if that one employee that knows how to do it isn't there that day, then they don't handle them ANYWHERE. :)

Q: I can only trade in 2 games?!

A: It's minimum 2 games. You need 2 or more

Q: Can I trade in more than one of the same game?

A: Yes, you can trade in 2 of the same games (not more than 2) per system. Example: 2 ps3 COD, 2 360 COD, 2 COD ps4 will work in the same transaction. When the same game is scanned a second time, a prompt will pop up saying you are not allowed to trade in more than 2 of the same game. Some employees get confused by this and say they can't take the second game. Politely ask them to read the screen again, it says NO MORE THAN 2, they should allow it.

Q: Is there a limit on how many games I can trade in?

A: No, but there is a limit of getting $250 max worth of trades. That might be 25 games, or even 5. With this promo, find out the base values and make sure it doesn't add up to more than $166. $166 x 50% = $249. If the last game they scan pushes your total over $250, they will not be able to add in that game.

Q: Do my games have to be in original cases w/ artwork? Can I do disc only??
A: To get full value you need original cases and artwork and they can't be scratched up too bad. You can see the values of disc only trades on the website. Hint: they're not very good!

Q: Are there any limits to trading in ONLINE?

A: Yes. You can't trade in more than 2 of the same game period. This rule is enforced by tracking your trades from whatever email you used to get your gift card. If you have traded in 2 of game "xxx" in the past, the system will not allow you to add that game to your cart on the trade in page. There is no harm in trying it though. Last time there was a promo, it glitched and some people were able to send in 10 of the same game at once. Please don't do this, as it is the fastest way to get the TIV's to tank.

If you do encounter the "only 2 of the same game limit" online, remember it is tied to your email. (wink wink) I hope you are smart enough to figure out a way around this.

There also might be a hard cap on how many games or how much worth of games you can get in one transaction online. I think it is around 12 games and/or a $250 cap. Just do another one if this happens to you.

Tried out this service recently. I traded in Star Wars Battlefront(because lets be honest with our selves with that game) haha. Anyway I sent it in and it is taking them ages to process the game once receiving it. I hope to get my money soon because I want to see that 22 Towards buying something new or preowned that I might actually like other then Doom.

For me it takes a good 2-2.5 weeks for them to process and send me the e-gift card.

Wow, that was painless. The trade-in was processed within 5 minutes. Standing in line took longer (and I was the 2nd person in line).
When you get someone who knows how to use a computer it usually is.

Once in a while you get someone who is computer illiterate though.

So wait... it's just credit?  I went from pumped to sad in a matter of moments.  Been trying to dump my Tomb Raider after figuring out I'm never going to replay

Do they still do those stupid e-gift cards in store? Last time I traded there I got one and it was a pain to get it on a regular gift card afterward.

Good luck getting this taken care of in store. I went to one of the stores the website said did trades and took about 25 minutes to be told that they don't do them anymore. Then I called another and they said they hadn't started them yet. Just a little frustrating.

That's when you ask for a manager.

The employees were either untrained or ignorant.

As long as they have a Walmart Mobile they do trade ins.
