I just bought a bunch of retro game stuff and im trying to fix one of the model 1 sega cds. The console will not power on at all even after replacing the fuse and testing the fuse. Does anyone else have any ideas or suggestions on how to get this beast running again?

Test your ac adapters, your Genesis and your Sega CD each need one.  Make sure your using the right ac adapter, the model 1 CD uses the same one the model 1 Genesis does.  Make sure the connector on the Genesis is clean, if possible try a different Genesis, make sure there's no cartridge in the Genesis.

If that doesn't work you might need to look at the solder points on the power connector.  If the board is getting power, sometimes TR4 will blow if the fuse blows, and the voltage regulator can also be blown out.  If not, could be another component, could be leaking capacitors, you'd have to start testing with a multimeter to figure it out.

If I remember correctly isn't this is the model that needs two big ass AC adapters? Those were always a pain in the ass. Especially when you had other electronics hooked up to the wall.

Both models require the Genesis and the Sega CD to have their own separate AC adapters.  With the 32x you'd need three.

I like the heft of my Model 1 Genesis/Model 1 Sega CD/32x stack.  It's a relic of how quickly technology evolved from the late 80s to the mid 90s.

I do have the correct power cables I also have 5 other working sega cds lol 4 model 2s and 1 model 1 along with 140 segas lol this one tho I replaced the fuse and the lights lit up for a second and then now the darn thing wont power on at all and I tested the fuse again and it isn't the fuse and I tested tr4 and that one isn't it either.

I assumed you knew all that but you have to eliminate the easy stuff first just in case.

The next step would be to check the 7805 voltage regulator and figure out which side of that the problem's on, i.e. if it's getting power and if it's putting out 5v.

Put your multimeter into the V setting to check voltage, if there's not an automatic setting for range then select the highest one and go lower as needed.  With the Sega CD on, put your black probe on the middle pin (ground), and put the red probe on one of the outer pins.  Then put the red probe on the other outer pin.  One is for input and one is for output.
